We need games like this though because some of the Summit teams may watch this tape and decide to try the trap defense against the Jacks like Davis and Montana. Didn't work for either but it does give the girls trouble. The more they see it the better they will get. Also need to get rid of the Jekyll and Hyde complex and play good complete games the rest of the way.

rep worthy - said it well

There coach is one classy guy. His comments of the team and AJ I felt were right on. I hope to play this team again just to here the coach talk of the Jacks.
Let's just say that first half was UGLY!!!!! I don't know if the women's team could have any more bad passes. It just didn't look like crisp passes being made tonight. Shooting was off the first half too. Coach gave credit to the zone defense. Free throw shooting was horrible too. At one point it was 12-24 (don't know the final tally). Still nice to come out with a win after so many things didn't look the greatest.
Over? Did you say "over"? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!--Bluto--

Dear Grumpiest guy in the world:
Yes, I'm calling you out Mr. Section C Row 8 Seat 12. Why do you bother coming to Jackrabbit games? You obviously don't come for your enjoyment. I never saw you clap once...not for nice plays, not for the school song, not for the cheerleaders, not steals, rebounds, or 3 pointers. You made the game almost unbearable for me tonight, as well as several others around our seats.
I know the Jackrabbits didn't play their best ball tonight. I know it was an ugly game. I know we had a lot of unforced turnovers, and missed a ton of free throws. But SDSU did win the game, by double digits in fact. Take some pride in the Jackrabbits and actually CHEER for SDSU's good plays instead of bickering and complaining about every bad play.
Thank God I don't sit in Section C Row 7 Seat 11 every game, as I would most likely eventually rip your larynx right out of your throat just to shut up your constant whining and complaining.
Again, you, Mr. Section C Row 8 Seat 12 are truly unbearable to be around, and next time I will turn around and kindly ask you to shut the frack up with your incessant rambling, bickering and complaining and instead actually cheer for the Jackrabbits.

You can't teach an old dog new tricks, but you can never teach a stupid dog anything.
Here's the story from the UC-Davis official website for athletics:
No. 22 Jackrabbits Post 59-47 Victory Over Aggies
UC Davis takes early lead against Jackrabbits before dropping matchup on the road
Dec. 17, 2008
BROOKINGS, S.D. - Kristin Rotert scored 11 points and Maria Boever added 10 as No. 22 South Dakota State outscored UC Davis 13-2 over the final 9 minutes, 27 seconds of the first half to assume control as the Jackrabbits beat the Aggies 59-47 in a nonconference women's basketball game on Wednesday at Frost Arena.
The Aggies, playing a ranked team for the second time this season and beginning a stretch of three straight against postseason teams from last year, lost their second in a row and are 4-4. Paige Mintun scored a game-high 14 points for UC Davis, just missing a double-double by grabbing a game-high nine rebounds.
The Jackrabbits extended their winning streak to seven games, improving to 11-1 overall.
I posted this in the swimming thread but it will be interesting to see if the "recommended stories" change as the UC Davis article is read on the Argus Leader website.
I'm sure others have noticed that on the Argus Leader website on the right hand column they list the "most recommended" stories. One thing that sticks out to me though can be seen on here on the article about the womens basketball team by Fred Oien: http://www.argusleader.com/article/2...0202/812170333
What is strange is on the right hand side under "most recommended stories" they have the article on USD beating SDSU in swimming as the top one on the list with 20 recommendations. However, if you notice the Q and A with Fred has 34 recommendations and isn't listed.
Furthermore the other stories are listed in decreasing order from the Top 25 AP article with 65 recommendations down to the coaches poll ranking story with 42 recommendations.
So stories are usually listed in descending order, other stories have more recommendations, and regardless of that the USD story is on top with 20 recommendations. It would seem to me the USD story was manually and intentionally placed there by someone because it certainly doesn't fit the category.
That may be a little "conspiracy theory" but I alway look at the list of recommended stories mainly because our great Jackrabbit fans always do a good job of recommending them. I almost missed the Q & A with Fred and noticed it wasn't listed in the most recommended stories. Yet the USD article which has 20 recommendations but is lower then other stories is somehow still under there and on top of the list?
The article is still there. If you go to the main site: www.argusleader.com and scroll down along the left side under "sports" you can see the story titled Q & A with SDSU athletic director Fred Oien. That is where you can see the 34 recommendations. You can click on any story and on the right side see the "Most Recommended" stories and see that the USD article is placed at the top for no logical reason.
Ugly, ugly game for the Jacks tonight but they found a way to get the win. The refs were terrible, like consistently bad for both teams, a lot of times they couldn't seem to figure out who's ball it was when it went out of bounds, we could make the calls from press row. It always seems like these refs are the bad ones, I could be wrong, but that's what it seems like to me.
