  • Centenary Ladies to get a Frosting?

Coming in last in the Summit, and nearly last in RPI, Centenary makes their first visit to Frost. First game of a doubleheader. This has the potential of matching the SUU game, or even the NJIT game of a year ago.

I believe the Jacks starters will have considerable bench time. Our two seniors should see reasonable playing time as they play this 2nd-to-last regular season game.

    Prediction:
    Jacks 86
    Ladies 48

    Half time score

    Jacks 43
    Ladies 21

My prediction: it over before halftime.
    Hal time score
    Jacks 51
    Ladies 15

    Final
    Jacks 88
    Ladies 40

Lets not get to cocky...I remember a Superbowl game not to long ago...we need to show up and play hard....

I'm willing to risk being called a cocky fan in this case because cockiness or overconfidence does not seem to exist in any AJ Johnston-coached team. So I am very confident about this team's ability. Our starters seem to approach every game about the same -- work hard irrespective of the opponnent. And, having so many great players ready to get into the game, any Jackrabbit on the floor has to play hard. At the same time, they're all saavy athletes who respect an opponent - any opponent. A beaten-down opponent is sometimes the most dangerous.

My prediction: Jacks come out fast and Centenary risks foul trouble because they don't know what else to do:

at the half: SDSU 39, Centenary 23
final score prediction: SDSU 81, Centenary 51

              Jacks top the Century mark:
              SDSU 101
              Centenary 47

In an unexpected battle of the D's, Jacks lose on stone cold shooting (15-56) when 5'-4" Brittany Barbee somehow sinks a hook shot over 6'-2" Courtney Grimsrud's out-stretched hand at the buzzer.

                  43-41. Centenary.

Hows THAT for mixing it up?

Ok that might be going a bit far, but as stated earlier...we need to not be to complacent coming in or we could get bit in the arse....after all, that's why they play the game.

The score shall be whatever the Jacks want it to be.

Don't know what the score will be, but the spread will be 40...

The one thing I don't really expect will be a score over 100...because that's basically not the way AJ handles things...and everybody will see time. Even then...it could happen because we ARE really good...but I KNOW one thing, we will defnitiely win!!! GO JACKS!!

Got my tickets yesterday for the double header.

The women should have an easy time. Too hard to predict a score in a game like that.

Hope the men can pull one out as well.

This came from the Centenary Women's basketball site.

'Along those lines we are off to the Dakotas this weekend. An early look at the weather indicates high temperatures will be in the teens (I don’t even want to think about the lows) so we are packing every parka we can find. They are two of the best teams in the conference but we played each of them very well at home in early December. That seems like years ago, but hopefully we can draw on our performance then and put together 80 minutes of good basketball Saturday and Monday. It’s important for us to build some momentum as we head into the conference tournament. Check back next week and I’ll let you know how we did.'

I wonder if they know if they are playing in "Frost" Arena.
