    Re: NDSU @ At Fargo

Since I'm out of the broadcast area I watched this game on Summit TV. No sportscasters, just video with a mike in the arena to pick up the game sounds. I kind of liked it. Sometimes I could even catch parts of comments by the players. The only problem is that NDSU is still in the dark ages and has no on-screen scores or clocks. And they rarely showed a scoreboard, especially in the second half.

Have you seen their scoreboards...It's no wonder they didn't do any of the sort.

You mean the nearly brand-new Daktronics scoreboard over mid-court, or the butt-ugly ancient scoreboards at each end?

As for the webcast, I'm hoping for a big improvement if we get our new arena and get to use the video control capabilities of the Fargodome.

BTW, that game sucked. (but that's no surprise)

Other than the 5-0 Bison start, that was domination by the Jacks!

Thanks ladies, that's what we all needed! Plus, Western Illinois lost so we are one game out of the Summit lead!

The "butt-ugly ancient scoreboards" were replaced at the same time as the mid-court scoreboard. They're Daktronics ProStar displays on each end. Not capable of full video like the center court board, but decent scoreboards that display player points and fouls.

This game was about what I expected, as I figured SDSU would be a 20 point favorite- 30 points at Frost.

I was at Devils Lake fishing so I taped the game. Got home a little while ago and watched the first half. I couldn't watch it all. Ouch! Congrats to the Jacks.

I did have an idea on how to make the game closer. How about letting us have three or four of your bench players? (five would be better) From what I saw, the level of athleticism wasn't close.

Hey, we did win the second half though. By one point. Weird how that is exactly the recipe from last night. Big lead at the half by one team and essentially a draw in the second but the outcome never really in doubt.

Crap, this just hasn't been my night. Maybe when I wake up it'll be Saturday all over again and our ladies will get another shot...

...on second thought, I think one more game at Frost will be quite enough SDSU for this season, thank you very much.

                  Re: NDSU @ At Fargo

Just got home from the game a little while ago. I took my obtuse brother-in-law with me. He's the one who thinks that being a Moorhead State grad somehow makes him a Bison fan. As we were walking up to the BSA, someone who was leaving the building, handed us a pair of tickets. That is the third time that's happened since I started going to Jacks vs Bison games in 1977. The people behind us left at half time and left their program behind (presumably for me). I can't say the Bison fans haven't been hospitable. Nobody from the concession stand seemed to want to step up to the plate however.

I thought the game was pretty ragged. Not really very good to watch. I didn't hear any stats, but my impression was lots of turnovers by both teams and poor free throw shooting by the Jacks. I wanted to stand up and shout at the PA announcer, "There is no L in Boever". We had a player named "Maria Bolivar" make significant contributions in the game.

But enough of this rambling on. Good win for the Jackrabbits.

At one point the PA announcer butchered Maria's name AS she was shooting a free throw, which she missed. What is it with Bison sports and their loudmouthed PA announcers?

Nice win, Jacks. Clearly, the Jacks were the better and deeper team, and I suspect the difference in talent level will be even greater next season with the addition of players such as Jill Young and Venessa Johnson. The Bison player from Parker (Plucker) may never experience an NDSU win over SDSU. She'll only have another seven or eight opportunities.
