Double header works! Good crowd, finally with students. Hope they get a 2K turnout on Mon. for the Lady 'Roos game

Very impressive blow-out win for the Jacks. Cheers.

Just home from the DH. SUU's womens team would not be very competitive in the GPAC or SDIC. It was nice to see our women put them away early.

I felt sympathy for the SUU women. They ran into a real buzz-saw and it was evident in the second half we could have turned up the speed of the game even more and totally destroyed SUU.

BROOKINGS - Considering its lopsided margin of victory, South Dakota State conducted a fairly long postgame meeting Saturday evening.

The crux of the message delivered by coach Aaron Johnston: Hold on to the confidence gained from this 76-35 victory against Southern Utah because a lot can change in the course of the final 11 games.

On a day that two other Summit League contenders were upset, the Jackrabbits took care of business. They earned a 16th consecutive home victory before a season-high crowd of 3,624 at Frost Arena, more than doubled their previous season-high for margin of victory against an NCAA Division I team and jumped from fourth place into a tie for second in the conference standings.
"This is probably our best game we've put together all season on both sides of the ball," said SDSU freshman forward Kristin Rotert, who broke the school record for 3-pointers by a freshman (44) in the contest. "We kept our turnovers to a very low number - the lowest I can remember. We played very well tonight."

A couple of impressions from the game last night. The Jacks defense was relentless, intense, and very disruptive. They didn't let up even with a big lead. They weren't too quick to put up 3 point shots, the offense was patient, lots of passes to get someone open inside. With the exception of Rotert (who should probably NEVER pass up an open 3 point opportunity), they frequently seemed reluctant to shoot a 3. A very nice win.
