Then why do you want a new arena or more seating at Frost. Full at 6000 would be better than 3000 fans in a 10000 seat arena. As least that's what I think your saying.
Well at frost we have the potential to fill it more then a lot of places do and 6000 just doesnt seem to be enough for possible future growth.
PLEASE, lets not make this thread into another "Frost Arena Capacity" thread.

As I stated I don't want a new arena I just want frost to be able to seat what it can and i believe that hearing everybodies arguments and knowledge over the situation that 7,000 would be very reachable... I was just backing up playing a tournament in either SF or RC rather then a Denver or an Omaha... Not trying to start anything

The Sioux Falls Arena is only 6300.

You are probably right.  I think the only reason that a game might work in Rapid City is the proximity of SDSU fans and Wyoming fans.  (There are always a lot of cars with Wyoming plates in Rapid City.)

The best course of action for the SDSU Athletic Department may be to try to identify several schools like Wyoming that are good enough to scare away teams that fear losing and try to get home and home two year contracts.  Perhaps there are other similar situations in the WNIT brackets.

I think this thread is full of a lot of BS and crazy talk. I don't think ANYBODY in the athletic dept at SDSU is seriously thinking about any of the scenarios disussed here. I would love to see a home and away with Wyoming in men's and women's BB. What about that?

Re: Annual Border Battle with Wyoming?

I think what most people are saying on here is that SDSU should give west river south dakota a game every year like the baseball team and Rapid being about as close to the middle between Brookings and Larime as possible gives people a reason to say play a game in rapid.. I also have to say this a womens Wyoming-SDSU anual game is quite possible but I think SDSU would like to see there guys get hooked in with it and playing a double dipper in Rapid would (in my opinion) make it alot more realistic. Also alot of people from the Larime region and from the brookings region go to the Hills as a mini-vacation on weekends and if there was a game alot of people would travel.

Re: Annual Border Battle with Wyoming?

We have played both football and basketball in Sioux Falls before to spark more fan interest there, why not throw around an idea of playing a game or two in rapid? We have played other teams in games to start the year on a neutral court, why not play an early season game agaist a team that would prolly bring a good crowd also to rapid. I don't see any harm in this thought.

Last I looked rapid had some schools out there to play in Rapid City! Why have another road game for the jacks, and yes Rapid would be a ROAD GAME!

It may be realistic to think we would play Wyoming in EITHER men's or women's BB in Rapid. However, someone was suggesting a 4-team tourney (I suspect in gest but I guess my "calling him out" hasn't worked thus far). I'm not sure there is a lot of precedent for this kind of thing and if it were to flop it would be an embarassment to say the least. I don't see it happening any time soon.

As nice at it would be for the western part of the state, as mentioned before, why would we want to play another away game. We have done enough of that the last few years and let's take advantage of where we are at this time and play some home games.

I don't think most people are saying that at all. I think is is more like a few vocal ones. Playing in SF is much different than RC. The Jackrabbit Nation is only 45 minutes away from SF. RC would definitely be a road game. I say bring the Cowgirls and Cowpokes to the friendly confines of Frost Arena.

That is completely sane and rational. Definitely a refreshing change from some of the recent comments around here.
