Can't overcome a rebounding defecit of 20. Valiant effort. This team competes every game. Gotta love a team like that. Onto Summit league play, we can win the conference.
We are here to add what we can to life, not get what we can from life. -Sir William Osler
We do not see things as they are, we see things as we are.
Terry's story from the Argus. Some really good quotes in there from AJ. Also, there is some info in there about the foot injuries NOT being related to the shoes. So please put that argument to rest.
Rebounds - not injuries - hurt women
Jackrabbits lead early, but fall to Utah 67-59
SALT LAKE CITY - Clearly, something is afoot, because the boot cast is quickly becoming South Dakota State's team shoe.
Earlier this week, second-leading scorer Ketty Corneman joined Stacie Oistad, Jenn Warkenthien and sophomore center Laura Nielsen on the shelf due to - what else? - a foot injury. But from where coach Aaron Johnston was sitting, the absence of four front-line players had nothing to do with Wednesday's 67-59 loss to Utah at the Jon M. Huntsman Center.
His major gripe: a 47-27 rebounding deficiency.
"I'm about as disappointed as I have been in many, many years with how we played tonight," the eighth-year coach said. "We just didn't play very hard. Even when we had chances in the second half, when it was a two-possession game, it was like we were out here having a picnic."
