I see Mahli, Claire, Maddie, and Brooklyn are headed to AZ this weekend. It’s a USA basketball event. The play James Madison on Friday then South Carolina and Phoenix on Saturday to conclude pool play. I am curious if it’s televised or any other things about this. It new to me!

This will be fun. Some really good schools on the list. Curious if schools will send their starters or a mix like we are. I'm excited to see our redshirt freshmen play.

Schedule set for this weekend. South Carolina will be tough but glad we get to see how we are against them. Not sure who is on the Phoenix team.

Does the portal open again before the basketball season begins?
One hand points to campus...the other to the liquor store.

I believe the only way to enter now is as a grad transfer.

That stupid portal spoils something cool like this tournament for me. As soon as our kids show out and do great on a national stage, the vultures will begin to circle.

Tough first game. JMU could not miss from deep. Sheppard looked REALLY good. Fast paced games with weird rules so I'm not reading into any loss.

The ability to hit 3's looks very important in these contests, and the Jacks couldn't buy a perimeter shot. James Madison had size, and kept Brooklyn from getting much inside.

yep, I think no reason to worry too much about results. just fun to see our girls playing some more!!
I did not look at the rosters and maybe they dont say, but it looked to me like JMU had 4 pretty experienced players out there

that said, I was very impressed with the play of Mahli and Claire. when I watched Claire in high school, I thought she was further away from looking ready to contribute, but what she showed today is that she could be ready to play next year

I was very impressed with our defense around the lane from all 4 players. the difference was they made 3 or 4 behind the arc and we had none

I would agree that getting some 2 ptrs helps a lot. I think our D inside the arc, especially around the lane was very good, but JMU seemed very intent on not giving us any good looks from the arc and did a good job of it

My thoughts too, fast paced game with hurried shots and passes is not at all conducive to Jackrabbit style of play and with two playing who had zero experience playing at the D1 level, makes it all a new experience . I'm not worried, it was a great learning experience and it helps to give 2 of our R-Fr and two of our senior class some good game experience at a pretty good level of D1 player opposition.

Watching from outside the circle while the post works hard in the paint does not seem a trend in (3X3) WBB - player motion wins .... just saying ....
