Their sophomore PG is really good. They lose a lot of seniors but they’re going to be good for years to come which is good for us getting challenged and for the league.

Robinson is a quality role player. Jones, Udomoh, and Oglesby are their foundation. seems very likely they go out and snag another transfer to fill the hole Udomoh leaves for next year

Hot take: I hope everyone stops talking about the streak. The players and coaches have already said publicly that they aren't thinking about it (similar to ISU's 30 year streak of games with a 3ptr that ended earlier this year), but I still view it as a distraction.

It's a cool streak for the fans and something to look at with pride (similar to men's / women's record at frost - men specifically with those images we'd see being compared to Gonzaga, Kansas, etc), but I don't want the first thing people to tweet/write about following a win is that the streak is now at X games.

Everyone will definitely not stop talking about the streak! That’s not how historically long streaks work.

It seems reasonable to believe that steak-hype is why teams have come out with such fierce intensity against the Jacks the last month or so. Look at the first quarter scores since conference play began. Fortunately they can’t sustain that effort level against the Jacks’ depth.

I’m expecting NDSU to come out swinging like they’re playing UCON Wednesday. They’re built to get it done if they get a few breaks.

Uconn holds the record for straight conference wins at 145 so I think we need to look at the bigger picture. A good rule of thumb for the commentary at least is to only be permitted to bring it up if SDSU is trailing going into the fourth quarter.

The sdsu.youtube.com has both coaches from today for post game comments. If you believe the chatter is not going to continue, please listen to AJ & HC Musick. Both coaches agree that there are many hands in the building of the streak. Musick adds that the Jackrabbits are the Goliath of the Summit League. I encourage you to listen and meanwhile appreciate the current situation.

Ogelsby had gone off on us in prior games. Byom and Fox are shutting her down today! Mesa with some incredible hustle plays already.

Fox didn't see the floor in the second half. ORU immediately trapped her every time she touched the ball in the first half and she turned it over a few times. It will be interesting to see if other teams take note and continue to try that.

AJ seems to be working on some new rotations today. I feel like we have played very VERY minimal minutes outside of mop up time, without one of Mesa or Brooklyn on the floor. he has gone significant minutes today with both of them on the bench and MV and Kallie as the posts

Hopefully AJ shelves that rotation. He needs to have at least one of Brooklyn or Mesa on the floor at all times. Theisen really got flustered today when ORU brought double teams.

on one hand, yes, i feel like both Mesa and Brooklyn have value that goes so so far beyond the stats they put in the boxscore and I am sure the whole team feels more comfortable when at least one of them is on the floor. i know as a fan they make me feel good.

on the other hand, I appreciate it a LOT that AJ is willing to challenge this team and take some risks. he is definitely ALWAYS coaching with the goal of both winning today but also trying to develop the optimum roster for the future

She came into the game in the first half to spell Timmer or MM. She was fine in the 2. When Paige left for a blow, the pressure was too much as she succumbed to the double team rather than try to outrun the double team. It was 2 quick turnovers and end of the blow for Paige. It could be that Vasecka could be the rotation for her to handle the ball with the other guards. MV picked up some quality minutes that could transfer for her as a sub for Mesa to move Vasecka other places. Whatever AJ settles for different rotations will likely be fine.

Fox has been fine at PG against the rest of the conference. But ORU is probably the only team that is athletic enough at every position to run those type of traps.

re: sports psychology etc, I think Dan Jackson had a larger role in mind for Kris Kracht's position (maybe this was discussed in football). I hope they fill that position to be athletic department wide like a lot of universities have done.
