The Jackrabbit women will get a well deserved break for Christmas with their families. 10-3 is a respectable OOC result. The losses are all to currently ranked teams. The first Summit game will be against likely the 2nd best team in the conference at Mabee Center. The bruises from today should be gone and hopefully the Jackrabbits have the attitude to recover the winning ways.Best to remember these are kids and they are doing everything they can to entertain us, be scholars, and all in all be great humans. Their efficiency % was 71.4 % , ours 35.6% and pts per possession was Texas 1.47 vs Jacks .78 , about 2 to 1 ratio more or less and the score reflected those two stats, again slightly more or less by about a 2 to 1 ratio. They scored 50 out of 70 possessions while we were held to scoring 26 out of 73 possessions.Their TO rate was 10% (7 out of 70) , ours 28.8 % ( 21 out of 73), that hurt us also. Out rebounded by 19 with 10 blocks made their height advantage at nearly every position be known.Great effort by our gals as always.
I'm also with putting this behind us and looking forward to what's ahead. Everyone have a Merry Christmas and getting together with friends and family!Last edited by jackdaniel; 12-22-2024, 05:16 PM.

TBH I don't think many of us expected a win down there today. I was hoping for a competitive game and no injuries. Well, we came out of there with no injuries at least. The only fear I have is after an ass-beating like that we get into a funk. I doubt it, but, it would have been nice to start the conference season at home after that. Versus playing the perceived #2 team in the league at home. Here's to lesson to learn upon, and another undefeated conference season!

Someone put the full game up on youtube, which happens to start with a Dallas Goedert commercial. There's 4 other videos out there of the game broken down by quarter but they do a weird zoom thing.
Brad Peterson mentioned in the pregame that the 10-2 start was best the nonconf start since like 2017. I'll have to listen again to what AJ said in the pregame but I think it was basically that they'll continue to schedule tough opponents and there was something about the type of tournament team he wants to be. I don't want to misquote him and the audio feed is still playing live radio, but whatever it was in the pregame it left me hopeful regarding the growth of the program in the years to come. Postgame I think AJ said something (again will need to check) about Jenna (or maybe it was Ellie) and suggested her minutes might increase, so I figured maybe that was why Madysen only saw 6 minutes.
Based on an 11 point Texas-Richmond (NET 37 after 3 straight losses to top21 NET teams) game, I was hoping we'd lose by 10-15 to stay around the same NET. As Oldhare mentioned, the first game is against ORU (NET 73) in Tulsa which should provide a very good opportunity to gain back whatever NET was lost. It'd be a quad 2 game as it stands right now.
Peterson pointed out twice they were still running a full court press well into the 3rd or 4th, and as I said before, I'm glad everyone got to experience it with the extra athleticism. It seems the team had too many soft passes get stolen and a handful of turnovers where players were just not on the same page with one another (seems there were at least two due to faking out our own inbounder while trying to fake out a Texas defender).
