HC Tanya Warren is a familiar face as she enters the 18th season at UNI. She has assembled a very competitive roster for this season. Their record is 5-4 with losses to Ball St, Kansas, Creighton, & Auburn. The wins include Iowa State, USD, Pitt, & Green Bay. The Panthers are currently #15 in the Mid Major Poll.. Maya McDermott is one of the reasons UNI is tabbed to finish 2nd in the MVC. She is currently averaging 23pt/game on 50% shooting. The Panther rotation tightens in the close games. 2-3 players with more than 10 minutes off the bench looks normal for close games. This should be great end to the Saturday for SDSU athletics. Go Jacks!!

Watched them play the coyotes earlier this week. It appears at times defense is optional to them. They have little inside presence (their big yore her ACL). They do shoot the 3 very well, so guarding the 3pm line will be a high priority.

In the last 24 hours Tyler has called men’s basketball at Colorado and football and women’s basketball in Brookings. Whatever that guy gets paid, it isn’t enough.

Good first quarter shutting down a high scoring team. Then an absolutely terrible second quarter letting them all the way back in it. Offense became quickly stagnant. Need to make some adjustments at the half as AJ always does. Can’t let their shooters go off the next half.

Panthers finish on 14-4 run over final 6+ minutes of quarter. McDermott started slow at USD game, too. She finished with 14 there. I'd expect at least 10 from her over the next two quarters

What an ugly game. Lots of missed shots and lots of foul calls. Hard for either team to get a rhythm going.

That technical call may have saved us from 2 points on a McDermott scoop layup (similar to the one she made a possession or two later)

Not sure what she did to deserve it but the T on their coach killed what little momentum UNI had.

These calls are ridiculous on both ends. Zero possessions that don’t involve a whistle.

Our rebounding was really good today and our defense held UNI to season lows. Byom may not lead us in stats but she was spectacular down low.
