The Jackrabbits travel to Houston to play the AAC preseason #2 team Rice. They are led by 4th season HC Edmonds who was the previous assistant at NC State for 8 years. Edmonds has an experienced squad. The Jackrabbits should not be playing in front of a huge crowd as the Owls averaged 800+ last season. They did bring 1088 for the Ga Tech game last year.. They lost to LSU in the tournament last year. This should be a competitive game as the Jackrabbits have an experienced squad as well. Go Jacks!!

This won't be an easy opener. Sounds like an experienced team picked to finish towards the top of their conference. Curious to see how Timmer and Theisen do tonight after a long time off.

Vasecka and Fox in early. Rice is very athletic and aggressive. Byom with an early 3. Theisen looks very rusty.

If we can knock down a couple threes maybe we can settle in. We just don’t look comfortable yet in the half court offense.

Hectic first half. They controlled the tempo. We started getting good looks as they closed in on Brooklyn more but they weren’t falling. Going to need to make some adjustments. Timmer’s speed is nice to have back.

Brooklyn started out great but is really struggling. We do not look comfortable on the offensive or defensive end. Vasecka is showing her talent at least.

Hard to get in a rhythm when shots aren’t falling and we’re giving up too many boards. Would be a different game if we could knock down a few more shots.

Very unsharp play. You can see a huge amount of potential, but lack of finish and accuracy is sinking this game.
