Utah has an experienced team as last year's starters returned this year. 1 of those has gone down to injury. Pili is 5th year senior(USC transfer) who does many things very well. The 6'2" forward leads the Utes in scoring, rebounds, blocks and 3rd in assists. She appears to be very strong & she was Pac 12 POY last year. 5'6" Jr PG Vieira is averaging 5.1 assists in Pac 12 conference play. They have 6 players averaging 24-35 minutes/game. There are 2 more underclassmen clocking just under 10 minutes each including Rapid City freshman Reese Ross. HC Roberts is finishing her 9th year at Utah with 160 wins. Brooklyn Meyer could be facing one the best players this year. She may be one of the stronger players Pili has run into as well. This should be a good match up for the Jackrabbits if they can score more than the 62 points Utah allows and the Jackrabbit defense can throttle the 78 offensive points the Utes average. Both teams have similar numbers for the scoring. The Jackrabbits should play a solid game in the upset bid. Go Jacks!!

I'm optimistic for tonight. For once we aren't going up against a team that outsizes us at every position. Our non-conference season wasn't stellar but I'm hoping the growth we showed during conference season carries through. These are never easy games to win so hopefully we get in a good offensive rhythm early and shut down their stars.Comment

We have to have a strong first quarter and not be rusty. They'll be prepared. I think they can get the win too. As we wait, here is a good article from the New Ulm Journal this AM about Madison M. https://www.nujournal.com/life/lifes...HycyYJYSrf5HF0Comment

Damn. Meyer picks up her second foul a few minutes in. Two charges. 0/3 on 3’s and Utah isn’t missing. This is not how we wanted this to go.Comment

Good lord women’s basketball referring is terrible. Neither of those were charges.
Nothing like inserting themselves into the game right away.Comment
