  • GDT: South Carolina vs SDSU 6pm CT Colonial Life Arena SEC+

#1 South Carolina will be a load tonight. Currently they are shooting 53% from the field with 29.67 assists/game. They are shooting 40.9% from 3 while scoring 63 points in the paint/game. #10 Notre Dame kept it within 30, #14 Maryland was defeated by 38, and Clemson was beaten by 69 as the Gamecocks average 107 points. There are 11 players on the roster with 4 players 6'3"-6'7" and 4 more at 6' plus. There are 3 freshmen on their roster. The Jackrabbits need to have a great shooting game as the Gamecocks have scored 100 or more points in the 3 games. Go Jacks!!
Best to remember these are kids and they are doing everything they can to entertain us, be scholars, and all in all be great humans. Jackedforlife

Let's get it on, Go Jacks !!! We probably won't be expected to win this game with those stats and them already having beat two ranked teams with relative ease, and given our short handed situation too , so the pressures off to do that, so let's see how we can do, will be cheering them on none the less. Go Jacks !!!

Nobody has held SC to under 100 this season or been closer than 29 points. Those are my goals for this game. AJ called this the best SC team he’s seen. They actually have 3 pt shooting this year to go with their size.

We didn’t come out scared! I’m loving this young group.

after seeing all of those life savers near Dawn Staley, I learned that there are a bunch of articles out there on Dawn Staley mentioning candy

Very good so far, when they are held back some, they don't have as much confidence shooting it seems (so far, knock on wood), when they are ahead by 40 pts , they shoot much more relaxed and without pressure to have to make a shot. They want to pull away you can tell, their energy level on the little things like offensive rebounding and trying to knock loose some balls from the ball handlers has increased alot. They are tremendous athletes, and tall. Don't know if they'll get beat this season.

they desperately want to go on a big run, and if they do , we'll be in trouble, got to act faster , they are letting us get with no where to go , and are sitting on the outlet pass and picking them off, if our TO's get way up there we will have a hard time keeping up with them.We have to counter the disruption with something of our own, out rebounding seems the logical choice. Our offense is way too dependent on just to few to score right now.

Vlastuin needs to get some open shots, she's taken zero so far , she's always been a catalyst, and we're not getting her any shots at all in this game.

No words for that 4th quarter. 6 points!

Dang good first half by the ladies. But you could see SC ramped it up in the 2nd. Brooklyn Meyer is a stud, she will reek havoc in the Summit League. 19pts and 10 boards.

South Carolina held well below their average. There was no hope of winning this and we all knew it. #14 Clemson couldn’t keep SC under 100.

Agreed about Brooklyn Meyer. Look out Summit League.

No P. Meyer, Timmer, or Theisen…. It’s a miracle we kept it reasonably close those first 15 minutes.

We are kind of in the same situation as the first part of last season when Paige was hurt. Mathiowitz and Colbeck can be good players at this level, but neither one is a natural PG. Especially against teams with elite talent. There should be some help coming in next year's class with Vasecka and Fox.

Abdouch is also a point guard. i could definitely be wrong- i have not seen them play enough to say something close to definitive, but i think both Fox and Abdouch are PG for their high school team. i feel like both are capable of scoring but Fox seems to be a little more aggressive in looking for her shots. it will be interesting to see how the two of them mix in with the guards who will be returning and if one of them becomes the clear number two PG behind Paige and the heir apparent post Paige.

my guess is that Vasecka starts the first game next year or very shortly after the first game. the other four will get a bit of time behind a very experienced returning group, but they will have plenty of time to get their feet on the ground before much is expected from them on the court and i wont be surprised if 1, 2, or 3 of them redshirt

I completely forgot about Abdouch. You can never have too many ball handlers, and having two on the floor at the same time will be a good thing..
