    Migraine?
Did she get a blow to the head at some point ?

Jacks testing out some zone D

Could be a good way to allow AJ to only play 1 big. We have seen quite a bit of BM and Byom on the court together.

Meanwhile, Hopp looks like she can handle herself out there already.

Nielsen gets in the game with 3 minutes remaining.

It sounds like Byom is playing well.

Nothing is going to come easy for this team. AJ will have one of the biggest challenges of his career. Considering how often knees explode in WBB, things could get real interesting.

They got it together after an ugly start tonight though.

This isn't sustainable. Nielsen isn't gonna be a rotational piece unless absolutely necessary. Behrens knee injury severity is yet to be determined. And MM got knocked silly tonight. How many VB players come over after season concludes???...

I’ve had the same thoughts. I do think we have some big offensive weapons that didn’t have a chance to shine last year and Behrens reportedly won’t be out long. One or two more serious injuries though and we will barely have a team. This will be a bizarre year. Then next year we won’t have enough scholarship spots if Kallie decides to come back again.

DEFINITELY hoping that she wants to and does return!!

BIG bummer this happened to her. took her more than a year to get back to 100% after the first year injury. and i think she was far and away the favorite to be defensive POY this year. my guess even if she does come back, she is likely slightly diminished next year but i still very much hope she does. whatever they have to do scholarship wise i hope they figure it out. GREAT kid!! deserves a better ending to her career

Three things I garnered from this game. Hopp has the earmarkings of an impact
player in her freshman year. Nielson is not a D1 player. We are potentially in big trouble.

The extra scholarship thing usually finds a way to resolve itself. This year may have some rough spots, but with all these young players getting minutes, next year has the potential to be one of the best ever when adding Timmer and Theisen back in along with the five freshmen. And if everyone can stay healthy, this team will be fine by the time the conference schedule rolls around.

we know that there has been at least some conversation, but that does not seem super likely.
i have absolutely no doubt that the coaches attempted to find a one year transfer this spring/ summer. also feel confident that the current circumstances mean that there was nobody that they found to be a good fit who was willing to join the squad

the situation is what the situation is. OBVIOUSLY even one more injury becomes a large problem, but barring injuries there are going to be some great opportunities for the remaining girls. the team is a bit small compared to what we have gotten used to, but remember that BOTH Tori and Maddie V can guard most post players. Maddie is competent in that role and Tori is very good and obviously both of them can guard guards

Mesa has looked very good in some limited opportunities. obviously she is gonna get a LOT more than a limited opportunity this year. feel like she will be the wild card when we play tougher OOC schools. if she can be competent, then the combo of her, brooklyn, tori, and maddie v should do ok in the post

losing timmer scoring could hurt against the better schools, but she did not score particularly well OOC last year. feel like maybe kallie had some room to surprise everyone as a scorer but i think the expectation was more she would be the foundation of the defense and brooklyn would do far more of the post scoring

anyway, i guess i am saying, the situation is OBVIOUSLY not ideal!!! most of all it really sucks for Timmie and Kallie!!!!! BIG hopefully there will be no more injuries!!! but i have no doubt the team that remains will do the best job imaginable of traveling down the road that has been laid in front of them!!! and this set of difficulties like EVERY difficulty is also an opportunity!!!! and i am actually kind of excited to see the way that this coaching staff and group of players deals with the challenges that have been dealt to them

100% agree with you ticket!!! barring more injuries we will be fine in conference this year and still likely to get the ncaa bid and then it comes down to the matchup. and this group is gonna grow because of the difficulties of this year

unfortunately injuries are just a reality in sports. still seems like the jacks get more than our fair share(((( but all you can do is move forward the best you can
