  • GDT: Panthers vs Jackrabbits 7pm Frost Arena GoJacks.com/Watch

Long time HC Tanya Warren brings her team back to Frost. Warren has a roster that does not appear to have any transfers which is quite an amazing situation in today's portal heavy environment. UNI is 4-2 with losses to ranked teams Creighton and Iowa State. They have played St Thomas and will play SDSU & NDSU. Vanderbilt is their big win and their first win over a P5 team. UNI is #22 in the Mid-Major Poll. The Panthers have had 4 home games and 2 games at Cancun which makes this the first road game of the season. The Jackrabbits have not played in Frost November 14 against Mississippi St. There should be a good & warm Frost Arena to welcome the Jackrabbits back to the winning way! Go Jacks!!

I see Paige is still in street clothes. Just want her healthy whenever she returns.

Timmer seems to be playing with more intensity. She’s really scrappin’. Hitting the boards, defensive pressure, etc.

Our offense stayed in the Bahamas and didn’t make it back. Just zero flow.

Defensive intensity is picking up. That will help the offense…..I hope.

We have good shooters. 3 point shooting is just not there yet. These last few teams have collapsed on us down low and left us open on the 3. Only way to overcome that is to start hitting them.

The lid finally came off the basket in the 4th quarter!

If our 3 point shooting keeps up now, we will be fine. Good to see Brooklyn get going tonight as well. Next weekend will be a huge challenge.

Brad P mentioned we scored 29 pts the first half, and 29 pts in the 4th quarter, we are trending in the right direction as far as the offense goes, and defense too, much more active there too. When we hold their scoring down, and we get the offense clicking, we go on runs, which relieves the scoring pressure somewhat and the offense flows more freely because of it. Just not digging a big hole having to climb outta and having it tied with 3/4 of the game completed is a very good thing .Very good ending to this game.

I would suggest that anyone who goes to the football game next week to not expect the food service to provide much food for the basketball game following. It was halftime of the game before hotdogs were available at one of the two concession stands. Brats were not a choice. The condiment tray was spartan as well. The choice to replace Aramark with this group has not elevated or even maintained an equal level of service or quality. The football game where hot chocolate was not hot in <20 degree weather might get a pass.
