We needed this tough physical style of play game before our trip to the Bahamas. Good to get used to that as we'll probably see more of it. South Carolina will be tough like we've never seen before at the end of the OOC schedule, we'll need our 3 pt shooting then for sure, even then, a super tough game, they seem to beat anyone they play by a good margin.Hope we play them well.

ZERO QUESTION that Dru did the best job handling their pressure both full and HALF court. i actually thought EK and MM did a respectable job. AJ went significantly heavier minutes to the experienced players and i am guessing MM had her smallest minute total so far but i thought she looked very good
she got her first FG of the season in response to their pressure. it was like OK you wanna get in my face then i am gonna take you to the hole then they overplayed and she pulled up for a nice mid range jumper. looked good
i bet it has been a while since Myah has been picked twice in a game. despite that she played very well and it is constantly evident how good and skilled she is!! it is hard to think about her being gone after this year. what a treasure!!
and i dont know if we have ever said it here but i think the best part of her game is the fact she never stops smiling
remember wnit game against Ohio last year the Ohio girl was getting ready to fight and myah had a big smile on her face. special special player and WAY MORE special person

i really do think that Tori is trying to / is going to turn into the WBB version of alex arians
she is so skilled and can do everything. i thought it was huge to end Q3, AJ put her at the point and she finds i believe it was timmie for a bucket. such an advantage for us that tori and myah can handle the ball so well. even though Myah got picked a couple times tonight (testament to both how aggressive and how quick and skilled miss. st. girls are) but it worked for us at least a couple times to have tori move to a facilitator spot
and on a night when we were really bad at FT line i believe Tori was 4 for 4
anyway i was just saying Tori contributes to this team in every conceivable way..her defense is looking as good as ever and she has guarded both posts and tonight was on some of their very quick perimeter girls. she boxes out. she boards. she passes. i think with so many talented girls this year she is gonna very often be content to let the others score. hopefully when the moments come that we need her to score she will be ready and able to flip that switch

i have no idea if that is the new miss st. coach philosophy. i know one of the usd players. i have never asked her. i should, but without knowing it for sure, i very much believe that was the philosophy of the former usd coach
i VERY MUCH prefer the Nagy, AJ, Hendo philosophy of wanting to guard as hard as possible but DEFINITELY NOT wanting to foul. i have heard all of them talk about this, although i dont think anyone hates / hated fouling more than coach Nagy. some things were maybe equal but i am not sure he hated anything more than giving up free throws!! both of our programs embrace the strategy and philosophy of wanting to shoot way more free throws than the opponent. Get to the foul line and DO NOT put the other team there
anyway i very much prefer the way the jacks do it, but YES I HEAR YOU!! when the jacks are constantly bashed around and hit in the face, etc.... it does seem tempting to switch to the fouls be damned style
