    Happy New Year!!
UND Alum Head Coach Mallory Bernhard has dropped the interim this year. She has been on the staff since 2013. She has 5 freshmen in the wings as the previous players are playing most of the minutes. 6'6" Leets Sr, Orth Sr, Borowicz Jr, Manson Jr, Daninger Sr, Davis So, & Olivia Lane Jr will log the minutes in the games. 6'3" VanLoo must be injured as her name is on only 3 games. UND received a thrashing in Vermillion on Thursday. The yotes played the top 6 155 minutes as the reserves mopped up the 4th quarter with a 39 point advantage. The Bison also edged UND in Grand Forks. The FHawks big win might be considered Montana State. The Jackrabbits should be able to work on the game improvement portions today. If you want to get out of the house on a frigid day, it should be warm at Frost Arena, Go Jacks!!
Best to remember these are kids and they are doing everything they can to entertain us, be scholars, and all in all be great humans. Jackedforlife

Hopefully Jacks can force Leet into foul trouble. She already has one so far

It would be impossible for the Jacks shooting % to be lower than the outside temp, but they may challenge it. Getting 3 happy, and then missing close in when they get the chances.

Officials must've taken an ice cream break at half

Fortunately, Jacks are making their FTs

Timmer has had two solid games in a row. Started the season strong, and then seemed to hit the freshman wall for awhile. Good to see her playing well again.

AJ postgame on youtube pointed out the need for keeping Nelson out of foul trouble. She is a quiet(but important) contributor. 18 assists on 24 shots was highlighted as well. I see Burckhard & Selland each had 5 assists. The defense takes notice when those 2 get the ball and create a bunch of attention. Kudos to those 2 for recognizing assist opportunities. It is rare to have Selland score less than 10 as she struggled shooting 1-10. The freshmen seem to find the spots as conference moves forward. Theisen played great defense on Leet and only picked up 1 foul in her 19 minutes. Irwin did pick up speed & play solid as the game played on as she had the most minutes at 31. It is likely the Jackrabbits will prepare for a solid 40 minutes next Saturday.

USD always, or at least it seems, gets the first game of the two games between these two teams at home way more than we do. It's important because whoever wins the first game has the chance to go 2-0, the loser at best only goes 1-1, and possibly 0-2. I know they will come out next Sat with fire in their eyes. It will be hard-fought by both teams, that's what rivalry games are about.

I back-checked the schedule for 8 yrs, from 2013-14 until 2017-18, the first game of the season between the Jacks vs Yotes alternated between the teams, but 2018-2019 and 2019-2020, back to back seasons, the first game stayed in Vermillion. The following season (covid anomaly season) the Jacks got the two games at home. This kinda made up for the two back-to-back seasons the Yotes got the first game in the series. I digress. That's why it seemed they (USD) got the first game more than we did, but it was just those two seasons.

I wonder if there are days that Myah's shoulder bothers her enough to affect her shot. She took some contact yesterday that stretched it out a bit and you could definitely see that it hurt her. It could be that she has just decided to play through some pain, and that it won't be 100 % until the off-season. Even if she isn't scoring, just having her on the floor makes a world of difference with the way the rest of the team plays, and with the way the opposing team has to defend.
