Women's basketball team honored by WBCA
The South Dakota State University women's basketball team has been named to the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association Top 25 Team Honor Roll for its academic excellence during the 2003-04 school year.
The Jackrabbits, coached by Aaron Johnston, compiled a team grade-point average of 3.407 during the 2003-04 season to rank 13th among NCAA Division II schools. That figure would have ranked sixth in NCAA Division I, where SDSU begins play this fall.
National runner-up Drury (Mo.) led Division II schools with a 3.820 team GPA. Eastern Washington led Division I with a 3.626 team GPA.
SDSU also received the award during the 1999-2000 season.
