The first of many DI wins for this team. They are not playing their best right now and will only get better.

                Congrats to the Jacks!

Hopefully that quiets down some of the naysayers in SD, and makes them see the light.

Headline at www.ukathletics.com: "Wildcats Fall To South Dakota State in Final Second"

Beneath the headline is a picture of Kentucky's #3 but the cutline under the picture states: "A driving lay-up by South Dakota State’s Shannon Schlagel with 4 seconds remaining in the game propelled the Jackrabbits past the Kentucky women’s basketball team, 57-55, Friday in the second day of the Paradise Jam in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands."

                  Nice.

St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands — Shannon Schlagel scored with four seconds left to give South Dakota State a 57-55 victory over the University of Kentucky on day two of the Paradise Jam in the Virgin Islands.
The victory is SDSU's first against an NCAA Division I team as the Jackrabbits go through the first year of their transition.
SDSU scored first, on a three-pointer by Heather Sieler, but Kentucky rolled to an early 24-10 lead.
SDSU rallied in the closing minutes of the half and came within two at 32-30 when Megan Vogel hit a basket and free throw with 47 seconds left. But Kentucky’s 6-foot-6 freshman Sarah Elliott scored on a rebound at the buzzer to make it 34-30 at halftime, then UK scored the first five points of the second half and the Wildcats built their largest lead of the second half at 47-36 on a basket by Jennifer Humphrey with 10:57 to play.
It took the Jacks four minutes to catch up, pulling within 47-46 on a basket by Brooke Dickmeyer with 6:36 to play, and SDSU went ahead 50-49 with a basket by Christina Gilbert with four minutes to play.
After the Jacks opened up a 53-49 lead, UK ran off six straight points, getting the lead on a basket by Angela Phillips with one minute to play.
Schlagel scored to tie it with 47 seconds left, then Kentucky had a turnover, giving the Jacks the ball for the go-ahead shot.
Kentucky called time out with four seconds left, then had a bad pass on the in-bounds play, with Jackrabbit freshman Andrea Verdegen coming up with the loose ball.
Sophomore Megan Vogel hit 6-of-10 field goal attempts and led the Jacks with 17 points while Schlagel finished with 16.  .  .  .
