SDSU enters the game with a 13-4 over all record, following a 58-36 victory last Saturday at Wisconsin-Milwaukee. So far, SDSU has compiled a 7-4 record against Division I opposition, i n c l u d-ing consecutive victories over Oklahoma State, Middle Tennessee State, Alabama and Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Wisconsin-Green Bay, meanwhile, is 14-2 over all and 6-0 in the Horizon League. The Phoenix enter the game with an eight-game winning streak, with their only losses to Big Ten schools Minnesota and Wisconsin.

THE SERIES: Tuesday’s game at Wisconsin-Green Bay will mark the first meeting between the two schools.

LIFE AS AN INDEPENDENT: The Jackrabbits , who are in their first season at the NCAA Division I level, are scheduled to play 15 games against 14 different Division I opponents during the 2004-05 season. Included in the schedule are Southeastern Conference opponents Kentucky and Alabama, Big Ten foe Purdue, BIG EAST member Rutgers (N. J.) and two other NCAA tournament qualifiers from a year ago, Middle Tennesse State and Wisconsin-Green Bay. SDSU will meet former North Central Conference rival and fellow provisional Division I independent North Dakota State in a traditional home-and-home series later this season.

DAIRYLAND HOMECOMING: The Jackrabbits’ two-game road swing through Wisconsin marks a homecoming for SDSU freshmen Sarah Meckley and Andrea Verdegan. Meckley, a 6-foot forward from Owen (Owen-Withee High School), has been a key reserve since being inserted into the regular rotation in early December. She is averaging 3.6 points and 2.9 rebounds per game, while playing 11 minutes a game.
Verdegan, a 5-9 guard from Glen Flora (Flambeau High School) has played in all 17 games this season, including a start against Ferris State (Mich.) on Dec. 21. The first guard off the Jackrabbit bench,Verdegan leads all reserves with an aver age of 5.9 points per game to go along with 3.3 rebounds per contest. She also ranks fourth on the team with 15 three-pointers. Saturday against Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Meckley scored eight points and grabbed two rebounds, while Verdegan recorded five points, a team-high seven rebounds, two assists and three steals. SDSU will add a third Wisconsinite to the roster next season as Osceola High School standout guard Ashlea Muckenhi rn signed with the Jackrabbits during the November signing period.

I'm listening in on the Wisconsin Green Bay Phoenix radio network. Really poor announcer. Sounds like a blizzard in Green Bay. 4 early turnovers by the Jacks.

So far we are getting a little DI reality tonight! Need a major comeback like the Men last night. This is the first game of the year that we are down by this kind of margin at halftime and will see how much fight in the women in the second half. This announcer for Green Bay is beyond a homer!

To put our opponent in perspective they lost to #11 Minnesota by just 9. Still if we take better care of the basketball we would be in this game.
