Willow Lake's Warkenthien is Miss Basketball

HURON, S.D. - Willow Lake High School's Jennifer Warkenthien, who will play NCAA Division I basketball this fall for South Dakota State, was named South Dakota's Miss Basketball on Sunday.
Warkenthien's career totals include 1,795 points and 1,001 rebounds, both Willow Lake career records.
Warkenthien led the Pirates to the State B title game the past two seasons. She was named to the All-State second team as a sophomore and earned first-team honors the past two seasons.
Other finalists were: Natalie Carda of Beresford; Jessica Deinert of Mount Vernon; Anne Doshier of Rapid City Stevens; Jenn Lammers of Sioux Falls O'Gorman; Kristen McMahon of West Central; Amanda Rantapaa of Lead-Deadwood; and Calla Sharping of Sioux Falls Roosevelt.
