    Jackrabbit women finalize schedule
Ten home games and five games against Division I postseason participants from a year ago highlight the 2005-06 schedule for the South Dakota State University women's basketball team.

The Jackrabbits enter their second season at the NCAA Division I level after compiling a 21-7 overall record during the 2004-05 season, including an 8-7 mark against Division I competition. Of the Jackrabbits' 28 regular season games this season, 26 will be against Division I opponents.

Included in the schedule are matchups against NCAA Tournament qualifier Middle Tennessee State and WNIT qualifiers Nebraska, Marquette (Wis.) and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.

SDSU defeated Middle Tennessee State, 58-56, on the road last season, with the rematch scheduled as the Jackrabbits' regular season home opener on Dec. 2 at Frost Arena.

Another marquee rematch features the Jackrabbits hosting Alabama in a matinee Dec. 18. SDSU posted an 86-83 victory on the Crimson Tide's home court last January. . . .

    Upper Iowa (exh.)
    Middle Tennessee State
    Wisconsin-Milwaukee
    Texas State
    Alabama
    Kennesaw State
    IPFW
    Texas A&M-Corpus Christi

Would have been nice to get another couple of D-I games at home, but ya gotta pay your dues, I guess.

I have heard that A.J. has had a little trouble scheduling D1 teams because of the recent success of the Lady Jacks.

As an alum and a fan, I'll take that kind of trouble any day of the week.

        Go Lady Jacks!

I hope to see the Gopher Women on the schedule every year if they want a tough non-conference game!

I can believe that. It's the same type of deal in college football. With teams not wanted to schedule a Boise St., or a MAC team because it is a no win situation. If they win they were suppose to win, and if they lose they can kiss there season goodbye(in fball). But it is a good problem to have for SDSU.
