  • Re: Megan Vogel

I don't know, she is in the pros now. Vinateri is talked about under the pro sports section, if I remember correctly. either place is fine.

I think Megan was preparing for this. Reading her recent blogs she seemed to sense that her performance thus far wasn't going to be enough to convince the Mystics to keep her on the roster. Doesn't mean she isn't good enough to play in the WNBA and we all know she has the discipline to succeed at the next level. Whatever she decides to do now, I am sure she will excel. Best of luck to Megan.

Now that she has been waived by the team that drafted her, other teams can give her a look.

I wonder if she has any interest in a European league.

Megan has the NCAA Post-Grad scholarship in her pocket so she has great choices.

I'm pretty sure that Bob on KWSN just said during an update the Megan Vogel would be on the Mystics team when they open against the Conneticut Sun with Megan Mahoney, a Sturgis native. Did someone get hurt and they cut/resigned her for the duration? Maybe I misunderstood Bob or they hadn't checked the transactions.

The WNBA posted Vogel's release at 2:00pm....likely Bob had an old recorded bit...in the can if you will

Still the possibility of somebody picking her up I spose...seems to be a lot more supply than demand though in the WNBA.

I don't think Megan is the type of person to "take time off"...maybe she just slows down and enjoys life a bit, before attending school again in fall...say maybe SDSU????  helping the 07-08 SDSU Women...with AJ, Melum & Brewster????

Still the chance of getting paid overseas too I suppose...ala Melissa Pater.

We will see....I don't think anybody has to worry about the next step Megan Vogel's makes...it's just fun seeing her walk

                            GO JACKS!

As I am sure most of you have heard I have been waived from
the Washington Mystics.  Now what you ask?   I will have a blog put out by
Saturday morning to let you know my plans and/or options.  There are some
options that I am contemplating as we speak, however, I am taking some time
away from the entire situation today to think.  I will fill everyone in
                              tomorrow morning.

I got the quote from Terry's Blog

On a side note, I looked at the Mystic roster and Megan is the youngest person on the preseason roster by more than one year.  All of the rookies on the roster must have red-shirted in college.  I'm sure if she was one year older she would have a better chance at staying on the team.  Just an observation, thought you might find it interesting.

Goring was originally recruited by UCONN. Couldn't get academically eligible, and went JUCO for a couple of years.
