      Re: Megan Vogel

I don't know how a recruit watches that video and doesn't hope SDSU offers her a chance to be a part of the women's basketball family.  AJ gets a lot of credit but I think he knows as well as we do that its about the players.  The ones who are here now and the ones who came before.

Anyone who doesn't understand how special and rewarding an experience it can be to be part of something like SDSU athletics needs to see that clip and understand that hundreds if not thousands of current and previous SDSU athletes would say exactly the same thing.  I think its important for those who don't support the funding of sports at any level, to take a look at what it can mean to an individual.

Take a look at the reality shows on TV.  People go crazy watching televison shows about "real life".  There isn't anything more real life than athletic competition.  (Okay, thats enough, I know, but that video clip is nothing if not inspiring)

It can't be said any better than thatl. I've been saying the same thing since reality TV has become a big thing. Sports doesn't get any more real.

I like my idea about making a reality tv show. Its based on me and my friends sitting in the living room watching reality tv flipping channels and making fun of it. Kinda like mystery science theather 3000. That was a great show, but you get the idea.

Broke the all-time record for FT's made in a career at SDSU during the Wyoming game today. Congrats.

Megan was invited to the WNBA prospect camp next weekend. I was hoping that she'd miss it due to the finals.

I wonder how much the attendance would go up for the Lynx when she was in town.

Thanks for the memories Megan. In my opinion the greatest women's basketball player in Jackrabbit history. Thanks again.

I want to echo my thanks to Megan. What a fine athlete and what a fine person. I see she is even involved in the on campus certification process and is listed on at least one committee. She is going to be a leader. Any city or community that gets her as a citizen will be extremely lucky. Good luck in WNBA. Show them what you can do.

I was thinking about that a little bit last night! When you listen to her being interviewed, Megan already sounds like she has been a coach for years. It would be awesome to see her come back a number of years down the road as the coach for the Jackrabbits (assuming AJ has moved up to a big time position)!

She has talked about wanting to see where her playing career will take her and then get into coaching. Megan, best of luck in everything!!!

Likewise, Megan's been an AWESOME, POSITIVE influence for SDSU, SDSU Athletics, SDSU Academic Athletes, and women's sports. May many successes come your way over the next years!

They did open up an assistant coach position for the women's team so if the WNBA doesn't work out, Megan would be a great addition to the staff.

LARAMIE, Wyo. - Megan Vogel fouled out in the last game of her college career.

At first blush, it seemed an inappropriate end for South Dakota State's lone senior, the program's second most prolific scorer and its last link to the NCAA Division II days. But she didn't see it that way.

"I knew I had to foul; it wasn't a matter of if I wanted to stay on the court or not," Vogel said after a 70-59 loss at Wyoming in the WNIT quarterfinals Sunday. "I had to do whatever it took to make sure our team had whatever chance of winning. If that meant fouling and coming out of the game, then it had to be done."

Her hoops career, however, is not done.

The 5-foot-11 forward was one of 40 college seniors invited to the WNBA pre-draft camp scheduled to begin Friday at Cleveland State. Run in conjunction with the women's Final Four, the event consists of multiple 5-on-5 scrimmage sessions in front of coaches and general managers from the WNBA, which will hold its three-round, 39-pick draft on April 4 in Cleveland. . . .
