    Re: Megan Vogel

BHM, we have four games left......UVSU, NDSU, IPFW, and NJIT.

Vogel has averaged 27 ppg over the last four games.......if she keeps that pace up, she would be within 25 before the start of the WNIT......

4+1 WNIT game:   she would need to average 26.6 points a game.

4+6 WNIT games:  she would need to average 13.3 points a game.Any way you look at it Megan is the definition of a champion on and off the court for our team.  It would be great for her to go out with a big bang.  I had a chance to talk a little bit with her parents tonight, they are nice people. I look forward to watching Megan close out her career with us.
Modified to show errors in Blue's schedule reading and ignoring the Utah Valley State game.

You need to get a life or just ask her out instead of sucking up to the parents! roflmao

        Re: Megan Vogel

Terry's article on Megann was very excellent. As Terry expressed in his blog, these articles are harder to do than ones that cover games. The one detail that pop out at me was her father and her participation Tai Kon Do for the past 10 years, not sure of the spelling. A friend of mine has a seven year old involved in this program and I visited one of her sessions. Its a sport that requires disicpline. So besides the body building, it gives an individual great opportunity to be a leader and a follower in a team sport such as basketball. I have a copy of the article which I plan to give to this seven year old. It can be only positive. Basketball requires each and every individual to be both follower and leader. Megan has done both in a very honorable manner.

My son started Karate in Sioux Falls at the Age of 4. We did for discipline and self-control. He is so much more coordinated than his classmates b/c of the training. He will be a black belt if he passes each session by the time he is seven. He is now 5 1/2 and shoots baskets daily and he will tell himself under his breath that "I can do this". It increase agility, flexibility and coordination. It takes a person to another level. Also helps with self-confidence

I hope she goes higher as I would actually go see her play and may even start liking the WNBA.

              Re: Megan Vogel

Intersting...but I would believe that ballhandling and defense are probably her weaknesses...cool that she's even there though so....

                Re: Megan Vogel

Her exaggerated dribble is what gets her in trouble the most ball handling wise. The refs just about always call it traveling. Even though it isn't, it's just a hard move to call and the refs don't really favor it. I wonder how long she's been doing that move.

                  Re: Megan Vogel

The exaggerated dribble I speak of occurs quite frequently when she starts to drive the lane. It's something you should watch for Friday night...It looks like she takes an extra step or something on the drive.

                        Re: Megan Vogel

Vogel is now at 1778, 109 behind Schlagel. A deep run in the WNIT and some huge games will be necessary for her to have a shot at the record.

Another reason people should stick around after the game until the press coference is over. They broadcast the press conferences on the video boards in Frost shortly after the game is over.
