I would not give up on the WNIT just yet. As AJ said in the post game, a game this late in the year does not have a dramatic effect on your RPI. It may go down, but hopefully not a whole lot.
You also have to remember that all of the conference teams have to play in their conference tourney and if they win out they are in the NCAA. The teams we will compete against for a WNIT bid will lose this next week and may also move them down in ranking.
AJ also said that we have more quality wins than bad loses. I think we have to wait and keep our fingers crossed.
As successful as this team has been, they have really lost some games they had no business losing.
1. Brown
2. UC Riverside
3. Southern Ill.
4. Colorado
Even winning two of these four would have pretty much locked up an NIT bid in my opinion. Obviously these games are no gimmies on the road in D1 but...
I completely forgot when we got homered at Drake at the beginning of the season and lost by two as well. That would have been a good win too.

I still say we need to have ratings in the 70's to get a look.
I don't think that's gonna happen. However, our overall athletic program has been earning karma at an accelerated rate this year, so until the WNIT brackets are announced, I guess anything's possible, including a freak epidemic of multi-game losing streaks by lots of teams in front of us who wouldn't get into the NCAA anyway.

How about adding 8 additional teams to the tournament this year?
