BOILING SPRINGS – One year after advancing to the championship game of its first-ever Atlantic Sun Conference Tournament, the GWU women’s basketball team will face a very challenging schedule as it looks to take the next step in the upcoming season.  .  .  .

Gardner-Webb will also play in a pair of well-respected tournaments as the ‘Dogs will compete in the Bahamas Junkanoo Jam (Nov. 24-25) and the Lehigh Tournament (Dec. 29-30).

The Junkanoo Jam will be held in Freeport, Grand Bahamas and will feature the defending NCAA National Champions of Maryland as well as Baylor, winners of the 2004-05 title. . . .

“We are really excited about this schedule, especially with the opportunity to play at such a prestigious tournament in the Bahamas,” Reeves commented. “We will be there with Maryland, Baylor, Virginia, Ole Miss, Northwestern, South Dakota State and UCF .  .  .  ."  (read more)

The basketball schedules don't usually come out until the end of summer (or later).

well garner webb has their schedule out and finalized. some tournaments have their fields set for the fall. so maybe we'll catch on in a good tourney besides the one in the islands.

Sorry Bunnies! No 2006 Champs. Just the 2005 champs, (Baylor), UVA, Central FLA, SDSU. Looks like the Cavaliers (UVA) for the first round.

                          Re: Bahamas Thanksgiving Tournament

think of the respect we would get by beating Baylor and or Virginia, not easy teams to beat. oh well we have beat a big 12 school before whats beating another gonna do for us.

From the composite '06 final ratings

                            Baylor 10
                            U VA 29
                            SDSU 95
                            UCF 274

Man, what a sweet deal if we win this! Even a 1st round win would propel Lady Jacks into a great season.
