For the second time this season, South Dakota State University senior forward Megan Vogel has been honored as the Division I Independent Player of the Week.
Vogel averaged 19.5 points and 6 rebounds in two Jackrabbit victories last week. She scored 19 points, including two game-winning free throws with 1.3 seconds remaining, at Utah Valley State on Jan. 25, then sparked a comeback with four three-pointers en route to a game-high 20 points -- all in the second half -- at Texas-Pan American on Jan. 27.
For the week, Vogel shot 10-of-23 from the field, including 5-of-14 on three-pointers, and made 14-of-15 free throws. She also averaged three steals in the two games.
