Marquette comes to Frost sporting a 7-2 record. Their 2 losses are Mississppi St and Northwestern. Their wins include Green Bay, St Mary's, and Illinois St. Some may recall the beat down from last year as the Jackrabbits lost 91-52. The starters from that group have all graduated. I would not consider the preseason pick of the Eagles to finish near the bottom of the Big East as a reality at this point since the preseason freshman of the year and a first team Big East choice will lead this group as they are scoring 69 points /game. There are also 4 starters averaging double figures as they average 46% fg. First year coach Megan Duffy has strong resume including her college days at Notre Dame, 3 years WNBA, assistant coach at St John, George Washington, Michigan in addition head coach at Miami(Ohio) for 2 years. Marquette brings a good mix of upper class players with several freshmen who contribute. Lott, Spingola, and King are the players who will be shooting the 3's tonight. This ought to be a winnable game for the Jackrabbits as they should match well. I do not expect either team to win by 40. Go Jacks!!
