GDT: Jackrabbits vs Chippewas @ Frost Arena

CMU returns 3 starters from last years 25-8 team. Coach Osterle is the new head coach. She spent the past 9 years as associate head coach for CMU and she played for former coach Sue Guevara 4 years at Michigan as well. There is not likely a big downturn expected for CMU. They began the season with 3 losses against Green Bay, Louisville, and Western Kentucky. That was followed by 4 home wins. CMU is picked to repeat as MAC West regular season champ. They do not bring a lot of size with 6'1" playing the post, but they have experience among the team with 1 freshman coming through early. They play 7 in the main rotation. Myah Selland is not a likely active player for a few days(weeks)?? and Tori Nelson is day to day at this point. Tagyn Larson and Lindsey Theuninck and Sydney Stapleton will need to join Burckhard & Irwin stepping forward to replace production by committee. The defense should be an important phase of the game to reduce the Chippewas 76 points per game. Let's have a great winter afternoon in Frost watching the women put together a win. Go Jacks!!

chips quick off the hesitation driving in, Kelly really good at it, the hesitation sets it up as they are just that much closer to scoot around the defender, seem just a 1/2 sec too hesitent going to the hoop......really good play so far, just a few missed layups and a few too many bad passes.CMU is a good team.

this is pretty encouraging playing this good short key players with injuries against a good CMU.I think if we keep up the pressure on them and clean up the miscommunications and keep going to the hoop and shooting good enough from the outside we'll be there at the end.Good game, lots of good action.

Jacks have been defending Kelly better since they quit switching everything. Theuninck is converting me into a fan. I have to admit I questioned if she was good enough to be a factor offensively, but she has definitely upped her game.

Love this teams competative effort they give, win or lose , that's alway's one element that remains constant.

Missed free throws likely to cost this game. Wow, Jacks are bad there this year.

Well played game, would be a huge win without Selland and Nelson.

Will be a bummer if Selland has to take a redshirt like has been speculated.

Jacks great at contesting the shot, but forget about the rebound too much ...block out and we can increase our rebounding tremendously
