GDT: Jackrabbits vs Pioneers @ Denver

It is the back half of conference starting today. Denver has been a question mark in conference losing to SDSU, PFW, and WIU on the road while handling the yotes in Denver. The games at PFW and SDSU only saw 55 and 59 points by the Pioneers. They also shot below 34% in all losing conference contests. Loven #3 is the leader in 3 pt made in the NCAA with 80 at a 49% clip. The Jackrabbits were lucky that she was 2-9 in the meeting at Frost. There are 5 players averaging double figures for Denver. We should expect another dose of defense from the Jackrabbits and if that works in Denver...the series against Denver will be 15-1, Go Jacks!!

Their PPV video system works on a monthly basis through CBS. $9.95 gets you a one-month subscription and allows you to watch both tonight's WBB game and Sunday's MBB game. Neither game is going to be available on the usual venues.

This is a chance to make up ground on USD. Denver is not a team that you want to let get comfortable shooting the ball. Let's not wait until the third quarter to get serious tonight!

Clean up the little things that hold the team back,sloppy or mis-guided passes, TO's in general, not boxing out on shot attempts, not slamming it off the glass so hard we can't get any "kind roll" buckets , etc....little minor things that limit scoring production or eat up valuable possessions. We kind of struggle when teams clog up the driving lanes , but so does everyone who doesn't force teams to come out and guard the perimeter .Hope Macy's , everyone's, mid range shots fall or we get them to foul. Our defense has been spectacular lately, needs to be again. USD went 1-1 on this trip, hope we go one better.

I agree that USD went 1-1 against these two teams but they didn't do it on one road trip. USD had 3 days off before they went to Denver and then about 2 weeks later they had 6 days off before they played at ORU.
You could argue that SDSU games will be tougher because they are only 2 days apart and they are on one road trip but that is how the schedule was laid out.

This will be a big weekend for the Jacks. If they win both of these games they only have 1 or 2 (if Western Illinois shoots lights out) games that should even be close from here on out. They are @ Omaha, @ NDSU, vs. UND and vs. IPFW for games they should easily win. You have USD and Western Illinois at home for games that could be tough.

21 - 17 Jacks at the end of the first quarter. This one is living up to the hype so far - plenty of points. I counted at least 3 missed fairly-easy layups by SDSU. We don’t look real sharp, yet....

The stat that jumped out to me is the Pio's forced 16 TO's and got 0 points out of them, we got 16 points off our 15 TO's we forced them to commit.Game highlights.

Always fun to watch a game on the road in person. We played pretty blah tonight but held their shooters in check to get the easy win. Booked the late flight home on Sunday so I will be sticking around for the men's game as well. Should be a good one.

Lots of beer drank in the stands by the good crowd of jackrabbit faithful. No riots or obstructed views for me

They did have beer there, but it didn't seem to help the home attendance.

The Jacks got it done in the third quarter again - continuing what seems to be a trend. Getting a win there is a strong sign that things are going well. That team put up 104 points on USD. Loven is the Guebert of the mountain time zone, she hit some impressive 3’s last night. Super quick.

Yes, holding the Pioneers to 67 points on their home court is a phenomenal effort by the Jacks.
