GDT: SDSU Jackrabbits @ Creighton Bluejays

Creighton is hosting their 3rd home game this season. The Bluejays are 5-3 and they are picked to finish 4th in the 10 team Big East. They have 3 starters who may likely play the entire game as they average 38-39 minutes including a 4OT win over Drake(who is the Jackrabbits next opponent.) They have also lost to the Yotes, UCLA, & Washington. Other wins include UNI, UNO, Nebraska, and Wichita. The Bluejays appear solid with 41.5% shooting(62 shots/game) and nearly 80% FT made(17 attempts/game). 6'2" Faber is the biggest gun on the team leading in blocks and scoring. Hopefully the Jackrabbits are healthier again today and we handle the Bluejays(especially since the Yotes did in Vermillion) The game is tipping at 4pm. The game appears to be offered on the Jacks network through Creighton. Go Jacks!!

Tonight starts the OOC homestretch. There are no more marquee P5 games but it probably won't be easy to run the table. Three of the four are on the road and at least two of those feature teams good enough to pull an upset if we have an off night (Creighton and FGCU). I seem to remember some of our past teams getting upset during this part of the season, putting to rest talk about at-large bids and such. Hopefully we'll make it through.

For what it's worth....
Creighton's RPI is currently 67. Their Massey rating is 46 (ours is 30) and their voodoo calculations predict that Creighton wins 68-63.

Uninspiring defense and even worse shooting have been the story for the Jacks so far. This will not get it done today. They're going to find themselves deep in a hole at half if things don't change. Lots of time left though.

At least Irwin is back. Still no Stevens though. Could probably use her toughness and attitude in a game like this.

Jacks were down 29-16 but went on an 11-0 run to get back into it. Halftime its 35-29 Creighton

a time where jacks miss an "Ober" type post---don't like to see Thompson try to drive from 12-15 feet out. more often than not it doesn't turn out well.

The Jacks look like they must have walked down from Brookings this morning. Slow and tired - especially Selland. They just don't have it so far today.

We gave up 4 sure points when we were down 7, because we can't use the glass for layups...we'll never be a great team if we can't cash in on the easy ones, UConn, top p-5 teams just don't do that, or it's at least a rarity for them. That's what makes us continually look like wanna- be's, really amateurish.I know AJ probably harps on it a lot,but it's just not getting through, evidently. This is correctible isn't it,yet it continues to plague the team.Lack of focus,rushing it,whatever it is,hope we get it figured out soon,drives me nuts,oh well,I'll get over it.We used to be good around the basket, we have just as good of players now, some better, but we struggle with layups and put backs.
