They didn't need them tonight, but hopefully the Jacks shoot better from 3 point land on Saturday. 25%, and if you take out Guebert they were 2-12. And many of the misses were of the scud missile variety. I would expect that having Ober will make a big difference from the first USD game.

The three point shooting in the 2nd Qtr (0-4) was a big part of the scoring draught we had in the second period,we were missing them.We had other issues too,but the poor 3 pt shooting only made it worse.Three point shooting can really lift you up,or it can drag you down.You have to keep trying though,you just can't quit shooting them altogether,you have to shoot when your open for the shot,unless you can get it inside all the time and score at will down there,usually doesn't work that way against most teams.I have faith it will show up again.

They had 16 shots from long range tonight. AJ addresses the shot selection as the Jackrabbits had 42 points in the paint.

The simple fact is that we shouldn't be launching many threes because we have a team that is terrible from that distance. Outside of Guebert and Young we don't have anyone who shoots over 30% from three. We need to continue to use our bigs and attack the lane rather than launching threes. Games where other teams make runs on us seem to be when we fall in love with the three point line.

I really like the month of Feb.That's the part of the season when the Jacks get super focused in on fine tuning and fixing the little things and start to become the team that can win the SLT, and hopefully like last season, go beyond a first rd game in the NCAA's. You can just see the commitment of the players and the rapid improvement of the team toward finishing this season playing as well as they can play as the season starts to conclude.It's the hallmark of Jackrabbit basketball.Fun to watch the process unfold.
