Well, to be fair I don't think I sang the praises of anyone on the offensive end. As for the field goal percentage from 3 point land Young and Gubert combined for 3 attempts, so I would argue the wrong people were indeed shooting the 3's. Heck, Alexander took 3 with no defensive player actually in Brookings County at the time and air balled 2 of them. She also air balled a jumper inside the free throw line. Our bench plus Lexi was 1 for 8 from deep which would be bad, except unfortunately is about on par with how they have shot all year. How long until teams just stop guarding them and double Maddy or one of our bigs? If you were actually at the game, you noticed they pulled the defensive player off Ena and doubled Maddy.

And as for what Flaata is doing right, she is playing a modicum of defense and rebounding while being on a team with no other options. Are you saying she is actually playing as well any posts we have brought off the bench in years past?

Listen, I'm not trying to be doom and gloom. However, I'm stating what I see. Again, today was a gutsy win and I think there definitely was a hangover from the UWGB beat down that accounted for the first quarter. Now is a chance for the "next player up," but not convinced any of them are up to the task. I would love to be proven wrong.

Scoring off the bench was a problem before Macy's injury that certainly isn't likely to improve now. Graettinger is the one possibility for help when she gets up to speed after her long period of inactivity. The Jacks definitely need the scoring from the guard/wing positions that the 3 members of next year's freshman class should bring. Add in Larson and Stevens becoming eligible, and there should be more scorers on the roster.

Let's take a gloom and doom trip back one year. After 10 games we had a player shooting 28,6% in the first 10 games and through the OOC season that average as 32.4% through 13 games. Then the same player made it to 38.6% by year end with that sketchy beginning. However today that same player, Madison Guebert, managed to get into a great shooting routine. Of course Madison was a starter and she benefitted from many minutes on the floor playing out that funky start. I understand the angst with the unsteady performance from some reserves, but I would hesitate toss the role players under the bus early in this season's campaign. The upside includes that Lexi made a couple shots after missing the iron on the early shots. I was disappointed with the front line players missing the easier layups, but I will enjoy the ugly victory instead of dwelling on those mishaps.

Lot of the problems are of the mental/confidence variety,as opposed to athletic /skill of our players. Not much you can do to get more from players, once they've reached their peak athletically (nowhere near our peak game performance last two games, btw)Once the lack of confidence issue is solved, we should see a resurgence in game performance by all our players, and it can't come soon enough. This is just a bad stretch all the players are going thru, the toughness they showed today has me encouraged that they'll eventually figure it out.Hey, we're 8-2 with only losses to Oklahoma and GB,two pretty good teams.

The later 2/3 of that game ought to help rebuild some confidence and swagger after what was clearly a big mental blow from the Miller situation. You're crazy if you think that seeing her holding her knee on the court would not mess with the team's heads. They are not robots.

George Washington looked solid, big and athletic. They would definitely be at the top of the league if they were in the Summit. We outscored them 53-33 after waking up at the end of the first quarter. I'll surely take that at this point in what appears to be a reset season.

I had to leave the game early and didn't get to see anything but the 1st quarter. After watching the replay, we did do a lot better after that poor 1st quarter.GW is supposed to be one of the better mid-major teams,so us coming back from a pretty sizeable defecit and winning the game is good for me.

I heard on the Brookings radio this morning that GW was a rated team. They are not in the Top 25 or receiving votes. They have some good pieces and a celebrated coach who played on one of those UConn championship teams. The Yotes or Jaguars will be much tougher competition. Although anytime you come back from 18 down, you have put some good things together. I listened to the GW coach's postgame and she was trying to figure out playing a solid 40 minutes on the road against good competition. I would not be surprised if she would like a shot at the Jackrabbits at their place.
(The Atlantic 10 may not qualify for the Mid Major poll.)

Right, no A10 in the Collegeinsider mid-major poll. ESPN has them ranked 8th.

They must have had an off day. I did not think they were a Top 25 Mid Major type of team. They had some pieces.
