There was an unusual order for the Pine Bluff women's team. It is the first time I saw a team take the floor after the National Anthem. It was odd to see only one team on the floor unless they were lined up in the corner where they enter and ran to their bench area from that position.

Don't know what people have against the National Anthem ,they've somehow made it political,which is not the way it is meant to be.It is supposed to be to honor our Country and especially those who made the ultimate sacrifice defending our freedom,that's all.All anyone asks in return is just a little respect.

Don't know what people have against the National Anthem ,they've somehow made it political,which is not the way it is meant to be.It is supposed to be to honor our Country and especially those who made the ultimate sacrifice defending our freedom,that's all.

It is the first time I have not seen a basketball team on the court for the Anthem. Football in college always has the team absent until after the Anthem. The absence of the team by their bench was unusual whether it was an intentional plan or their own routine....

It's only about a minute of their time,obviously they're there. I'm not going to harp on it, but I do think it was poor taste to miss the Nat'l Anthem,for whatever reason,except maybe a medical emergency or something....BTW,I didn't even know that happened til I read your post,I missed that.

If it was intentional, then the beat down was a proper response.

Found what you are referring. The second link requires that you read it entirely to get a flavor for the language of the time. 'The first link is the entire Anthem that has not been used beyond the first verse since about 1931.

Took in my local JC WBB &MBB teams this PM. Our WBB team had a 5-7 guard(22) jump center, she won the tip by at least a foot. Sort of Rondo-esque in body conformation, height/arm length. Looks to be a good solid mid-upper DIII prospect, or a 2 year starter at Arkansas Pine Bluff.
