Coach Bluder states that this loss could hurt them at end of year. She likely did not get any help with the 20 point victory over Oral Roberts either.

This is a nice win but by no means an upset.

Agreed, one of the teams is receiving votes for the top 25, but it's not them.

Maddie made the heave at the buzzer (end of third). Hit bakbcoard, caught front of the rim and settled in. Macy named MVP, Clarissa, Ellie and Maddie on all tournament team also, and two Hawkeyes. Score 63-62, Macy fouled, made first, missed 2nd. Iowa went down and hit a 2-pointer (shot came from just inside the 3-pt line) with 5 second left. Jacks call timeout, get ball at half court, and Macy hits the basket with 1.7 on the clock. Great game and great win!!!

very nice win. came across a stat that was a little concerning, but, probably not a real big surprise when you are up against a P5 wbb squad.

This game gave a pretty good idea of how coach truly feels about our bench. He trusts Lexi, and no one else. Hopefully once the conference season starts the likes of the Sydney's can start to find an offensive rhythm and contribute coming off the bench. Flaata is the primary big right now, but hopefully Bultsma can get used to the speed of DI basketball and push in to her minutes later in the season.

The post game show indicated that the hand/finger injury for Graettinger was improving and that she would begin practicing with the team in the near future. That is another resource for the team as the season goes on and some nagging injuries will need to be attended for other players.

There's definitely some truth to that. However, while watching the game I found it very noteworthy that he had Sydney out on the floor when things were really tight around the 2:00 mark.. That says something about the skills of a true freshman playing in only her fourth game.

Given the struggles of the bench scoring, the coaching staff did a masterful job of subbing in players....just enough to give the others a little breather. The subs got some important rebounds, including 2 offensive rebounds to give us another shot.Four TO's, but wonder if Iowa jumped on them a little harder, knowing they might get a TO as they were more inexperienced,or they were just nervous ,who knows. We had enough, good team win.Oklahoma probably more of the same, if their bench is as deep as Iowa's.

Reminds me a little, with the defender falling down,of Lexi's 5 sec buzzer beater last year, but hers was just about full court and a layup.Beautiful shot by Macy, her shot motion looks so smooth and effortless. She got, around her defender and got what she could and nailed it!In both cases,it was Ober who made the pass, she's got the touch for right speed and accuracy.
