A very interesting article. The NCAA Rules are much like the Internal Revenue Code, several decades of good intentions and some now out dated but established for good reason so as to make it a level playing field. This will be a test of the clout of the P-5 and will they be able to wield their power and get what they want. Some presidential candidates have advocated repealing the entire IRS code and replacing it with a flat tax. I dont see that happening any time soon. Maybe as the author of this commentary suggested the NCAA might be not be late but might be effective in eliminating the grad transfer rules which are somewhat contradictory. They were a big help to TJ in shoring up a roster for this year. This is interesting and a threat to mid majors, but how much of a threat? The punter's case could easily be thrown out because of lack of merit and legal standing. Its not like he was a free agent and this transfer rule messed him up. He agree to follow all the NCAA rules when he signed his letter of intent.
