Gonzaga knocks off #11 Stanford 68-63,this along with UWGB's showing against #1 ND ,there will be competition for the #1 spot in the mid-major poll this year.We get our first chance probably against Iowa,if we can get by Montana,who's missing their two best scorers (Valley and Sims) to injury.

Not to mention their travel issues causing their game to be later tomorrow. This weather is causing all sorts of issues for teams.

Have to think that Gonzaga will take over the top spot with a win like that, especially in Maples.

Well obviously the voters are very high on SDSU as we remained #1 despite the impressive win by Gonzaga (or they are lazy slot voters...). Big week this week for the two of us as we play OU while Gonzaga has a 2 day run against Michigan and Florida State.

I notice that Gonzaga made #25 in the AP Top 25 Poll.

I think a lot of voters are cautiously waiting to see how well we play against Oklahoma (hedging their vote,depending on the outcome),before they are willing to cast a vote for us #25 or higher in the AP or coaches top 25 poll.

While it kept us out of the top-25, the Oklahoma loss did not drop us too far. We are #38 in this week's AP poll and #32 in the Coaches poll. Green Bay is 36/31 and Louisville is 7/7.
