Today will be Senior Day for the women. There will be one more home game against Denver for the women on Thursday and the WBB season at Frost is over for the year. The Jackrabbits have a 25-1 record against the Mastodons with the only loss in OT on January 22, 2011 in Frost. Today's game should not be close enough for the Mastodons to force an overtime. The women should come out as strong as the ORU game and build the lead in the first quarter. Then we can hope that the rest of the quarters look the same. As the season has gone quickly, Chloe and Gabby are looking to end their Jackrabbit Days with a measure of success in the remaining portion of the season. The men are entertaining the Yotes today should bring a large crowd to see these women near the end of their playing days. Go Jacks!!

Re: GDT: Jackrabbits vs Mastodons
This is definitely not among the top-10 games played by the Jacks this year, yet they have a 23 point lead early in the third period. Such is life in the Summit. You've got to be able to self-motivate to make yourself a better team. At least we seem to have kicked the early season habit of playing down to the level of our (lesser) competition.

That beating was worst than others we have seen recently. Every Jack scored, eight hit threes. It was not even fair within the paint. 92 points (53% with eleven 3's) is evidence that this team can still score.
One week to go until the USD rematch.

We get a Coach Paul postgame interview. He is always entertaining to watch. He is in 11th season in Ft Wayne. His closing remarks are somewhat showing frustration.

I've always liked coach Paul, always genuine and honest in his remarks, nothing phony at all. What he said about the Jacks going on runs every game is what makes them special,he hit the nail right on the head. That's what special teams do,the Notre Dames,Oregon States,Oklahoma's,....etc,all the teams we've lost to in the NCAA tournaments past that we've played ,they've all had their run and separated enough, and maintained that separation. We get behind and now we are the ones who play like he described how his team reacted in this game. Them rushing their shots, and us making them on our end....etc,etc (a snow ball effect, being 7 down and it turns to 19,etc ).
Hopefully,if we get another chance this year to go to the NCAA tournament, that we've learned from that, and play more disciplined when we need to play disciplined. The games against ND (not the fighting hawks) and Maryland this year suggests that maybe we have learned some important lessons and will be much better equipped mentally to handle any adversity much better and counter it with good play of our own. Keep the pressure on them and keep it building, make them sweat and have to do something, instead of letting them put the pressure on us to make up a big deficit. Even special teams can get flustered and begin making mistakes when the pressure gets too much for them to handle. They're called "upsets".Teams that aren't mentally tough enough to handle a little pressure can be subject to being upset. It happens.
Something we have to be cautious of( as a perceived favorite),and something those perceived to be the favorite ,who might have to play us , become all to aware of as well.

Re: GDT: Jackrabbits vs Mastodons
We went to the game and stayed at the holiday inn and talked to Coach Paul when he was having breakfast. He was super respectable and nice. good guy from what i gathered he commented on how IPFW needed to step up facilities to keep up with the rest of the league and has always been impressed on the support our team gets. I mentioned that they were looking to renovate Frost after the football stadium to get more seating. He was like Great More fans right on top of you to make the home gym advantage even better. I said home court was worth at least 10 points and he whole heartedly agreed. I would put him as one of the better coaches in our league even if they are rebuilding this year.
