This is a rematch of the last team to defeat the Jackrabbits in conference play. Denver won 77-72 in Denver. Denver is having some health issues of their own as 4 starters were on the bench with injury the last game. Two of those may return to action to boost the number 7 to 9 that were suited to play. It will also be unlikely the Pioneers will score 77 this year. The 2-11 Pioneers are averaging 52.6 points per game with a high score of 64 in the loss to Wyoming. The Jackrabbit defense could add another sub 50 game to Denver's other 4 games totaling less than 50 scored. This should be a game that we see some of the reserves like Flaata, Mieras, Palmer, or Viso through some rotations. The Jackrabbits should be heavy favorites and they could write down a win from 20 to 40 depending on how long they want to pressure defense the Denver team. Go Jacks!!

Re: The Summit begins. GDT: SDSU @ Denver
For the most part, the Jacks have shown a pattern of playing up or down to the level of the competition. I'll be disappointed if that happens tonight. Even if this one is relatively close at halftime, the SDSU depth should easily run the Pioneers out of the gym by the end of the third quarter. It would be nice to see the team open the Summit season with two road blowouts - both of which are a chance to avenge a costly lost from last season.

So far, I'm glad I did not pay for video tonight. The Jacks have started off on a roll. Up 13-4 early. Guebert has nailed a couple 3's, which is great to see. She could be a much improved offensive player by the end of the season.
