Enough of that football game.... It's a good thing the Jacks play tonight.

ODU was picked to finish second in C-USA and has a standout guard (19 ppg and 8 rpg as a freshman).

Pitt beat them by 9 and Maryland by 46. We should win this game but the fact that both teams are playing their third game in three days makes it less predictable. Depth and conditioning will come into play more than a typical game.

This is one of many the Jacks are going to have to win if something better than a 13 seed is going to be possible.

Was confused by Jacks WBB twitter feed. They referenced the previous record as 14 more than once. I was at the game in Lubbock when they hit 16. I also believe they hit 16 versus Northern one year.

Looks like 3% shooting gets a shot in the arm, hefty 17-34 ....50% They left a lot of our shooters open, can't do that against the Jacks, at least this night anyway

A 31-point win on a night where you might be vulnerable to a letdown sends a strong message about where this team is.

            Well done.

1-3 for Jackrabbit teams today, with this as the lone victory. Congrats to AJ and crew.

First half was a bit shaky. The final few minutes found some energy. ODU was without their stud Simms who had some emotional issues following the Pitt defeat and she sat this game on the bench. 50% from 3 pt is nice. Kerri Young and Macy Miller make the tourney team for their division. The team defense should certainly be noticed for these games. Gabby only has credit for one steal, but she should have 2 more in the column since she made those steals possible. Back to Frost for Portland St.

It was nice to see Palmer hit some 3 and get some good playing time. I would like to see her play a little more. She is a really good offensive player and good on the boards.

ODU was much closer to the type of teams that we'll see in the Summit. Like pointed out above, ODU battled well in the first half. Jacks ran their traditional 12 player rotation, while ODU had a short bench of only 8 to play (due to "team rules violations" of two players). This was another "wear them out" slaughter with the fresh legs and man was the team ok'ed to jack 3's (hit at 50%, go for them!). Defense was stellar, and will keep Jacks in a lot of games. At the end, AJ had ALL non-starters playing, but gave them the go ahead and make plays. They did. Sydney had some nice shots, and finished the game strong.

Maryland game was another good shot at the type of team that Jacks will need to beat to make a NCAA Sweet 16 bracket. Would love to see Jacks in the "Sioux Falls Regional". This team is close. Here's hoping that Jacks can go undefeated the rest of the way. Tough to do, but the team appears to have the right sets of interchangeable talent that AJ demands of his players.

It seems that she is still ramping up for the speed of the game. Mieras has some of the same hesitations as a freshman. They know what to do, but the reaction time or execution lags a bit whether it is rebounding or defense. Both of these players have the strength required to play with the better teams. As we watch the introduction of the underclass players the past couple of years, it appears they are more prepared skill & talent wise as freshman.

Maryland could be could possibly be a #1 seed in the NCAA tournament, maybe a two seed or even a three if their season doesn't go as well as planned. They would be playing against a 16,15, 14 seeded team.Lately,we've been getting a 14 or 13 seed.I expect we can do better this year with the players we have,( some things we might have to work on) maybe 12 and under ,that put us playing teams (theoretically) ranked 17-25 in the top 25.That gets us out of playing on a top 4 seeded teams home court. That's what we have to play for to get to Sioux Falls.I think the team is focused and ready to break the "lose in the first rd cycle" and give us all a treat to see them make the field in Sioux Falls.I'm hoping we're ready this year to make the leap,so to speak.I agree with you,we can beat these top teams this year,i have no doubt.Win the games we're supposed to.Win against DePaul could seal the deal if we can split with Creighton and Greenbay, as both games are on the road.Bowling green should be tough on the road and we.ve handled No Ia pretty well lately, but they won't be a pushover either.I'll be content to just sit back and watch the drama unfold.

USD wont be no pushover in the conference tournament. They are really good offensively when Seekamp is in the game, granted they haven't played anyone that good yet. Washington will be a good test for the Yotes when they head to the Dakota Dump.

It would be awesome if the Jacks can take down DePaul at Frost and Green Bay on the road. That would be huge boost for their resume. I think SDSU needs to go and will go 6-1 (loss to GB/DePaul) or 5-2 (loses to GB & DePaul) in the rest of the ooc and take care of the conference portion (1 loss to USD on the road) in order for the Jacks get an at-large if a slip up does happen in the tournament.

Green Bay was in both games in the Paradise Jam against Virginia and Rutgers. The second half against Virginia was a very physical game with the bigger Virginia coming out on top with hustle plays on the floor and low post. GB dominated the scoring the first half. GB also could not play the 4th quarter against Rutgers and ran out of gas as Rutgers went on the big run to win. The P5 teams have that extra size and speed that is hard to stop in the paint. GB could have used another player like Luke to add depth to the team and a presence in the paint.
The Jackrabbits were surviving better in the paint with the double team that came quick to slow down the big players. Even Jones from Maryland turns around with ball low enough to get some hands on the ball from the double which makes it difficult to go up quick. Most have noticed that the Jackrabbit defense has slowed down some very good teams. The big road games prior to conference against Green Bay and Creighton will give us a bit more perspective of how the team can perform. A couple of big road wins would polish the confidence for this team.
