Re: GDT: Jackrabbits vs, The Irish

I'm more offended by some of the stupid tweets and silly comments on this fan board than I am by anything the Notre Dame coach said. She is a class act.
    This space for lease.

Zimmer was off base and perhaps the result of the travel woes to Western over the weekend. My feelings are that he works for a guy whose name rhymes with blue, that has never been a big fan of the Jackrabbits. ND coach made a classy move to hold up the women's game and the atmosphere our ladies have created in our little corner of the world. As far as I'm concerned, the Argus could give a crap less about us, and between Stu, Mick and Zimmer; they display our lack of true sports journalists in the neighborhood and it won't change anytime soon.

Stu is not his boss anymore. Stu now writes about city and state politics (amongst other things).

Time to interject a different opinion: overall, Zim doing a good job presenting interesting news on the Jacks. I was at the Notre Dame game and I was not offended by McGraw's comment but can understand some taking Zim's point of view.

Time to let it go and move on. Our team will continue to get better. We have impressive underclassmen which means we have room to get better and when you consider we started the season playing at a high level, well, it's going to be a great year.

Agree Zimm is our AL guy and doing a good job, but he messed up in taking on the ND SID. It's like me taking on Ron Lenz and arguing about a forty year old SDSU record. These SID guys are very knowledgable. Coach McGraw was classy. I am ready to move on.

Graham Hays wrote a very good article about Notre Dame coming to frost and a little background on Boever.

Nice. That's going to be a good one for potential recruits to stumble onto while considering schools.

Re: GDT: SDSU Jackrabbits @ TCU Horned Frogs

Both teams got what they expected. If anything, Jacks made it closer than I'd expected. 5500+, for a Nov. OOC game? That is generally unheard of outside of maybe UConn, at least on the women's side. Fans were knowledgeable, engaged, and stayed for the WHOLE GAME.

Muffy shared the same thoughts the WNIT coaches have expressed. These top programs don't play mids on their home courts. THE HOME COURT ADVANTAGE in FROST is very large. Other than UConn, will Notre Dame face as engaged audience?

IMHO, UND would be pleased to be assigned to Sioux Falls Region for this year's WBB tourney, unless get stuck playing Rabbits again.

Not just a gym... but "an old-school basketball barn"... lol, I know Frost is out of date, but come on now.

It gives Frost that Hoosier flavor.

Thanks for finding this...a well written story, which covers McGraw's after-game comments in the light of how that came about for her. I didn't need it to validate my constant search for recognition of the Jackrabbits (sorry, MZ, I couldn't resist) but it did put a punctuation on a very remarkable evening. Unfortunately, we probably will never see another top 5 (or top 10, or top 20, etc.) team again in Frost, because few nationally ranked teams would be crazy about scheduling a home and home with us, but it was great that we had this opportunity.

After reading a quote on what the ND coach said to the crowd, i don't know how anyone could have an issue with what she said. She was simply thanking the crowd for supporting women's basketball. Good for her.

AJ has also stated that we do not go for money games with the P5. The home and home is his approach. It appears the schedule has been very challenging these past years. It is too early to say never again if he can slide into some road games like he did with ND. The WBB schedule has been the anchor of the OOC for the Jackrabbits since the MBB team suffers what all men Mid Major teams suffer is that no good program wants to take a chance on a road game with a Mid Major. It is a bad loss come tourney time and half or more of the P5 teams expect a spot in March Madness.
