When we played South Carolina in 2013 in Boulder,Colorado, just two short years ago, they didn't have near the size as this years team has.

The last 14 seconds for ND was superb, intense with no fouling, the girl who helped double team and wouldn't be content to let the ball go out of bounds, but threw it back in, forced the SC player to take a bad shot. Well played defense.

A'ja Wilson is a stud for a freshman, no wonder she was so sought after. I think if SC continues to recruit the way they have lately, they'll win a NC.

i'd be very surprised if Staley doesn't turn SC into perennial top 5 from here on out. i think she has "cooled her jets" a bit---and i think that will do nothing but benefit the program.

yes, and, i believe ND graduates one player. according to one recruiting site, ND also brings in 2 guards (rated #2 and #3 at their position for 2015). another recruit (also a guard) is rated #17 overall, i believe. while next season's home game with ND will be interesting, realistically the only way the game remains close is if ND comes in taking the jack's lightly and aren't very focused. not trying to a downer, but, it is what it is. would be surprised if ND doesn't come in ranked #2 in the polls.

Yes, as exciting as it is to have this level of team come into Frost I'm not delusional about the outcome. I distinctly remember the bloodbath that ensued when the teams met in South Bend. They beat us by 43 and could have probably made it 63. It was like watching SDSU vs. Dakota State. Those top-4 WBB teams play at a completely different level than the rest of the WBB world - especially the mid-major world.

One of those recruits for ND, Arike Ogunbowale, was an AAU teammate of our own recruit, Madison Guebert.

And then there is Uconn. Uconn is at a completely different level than anyone else. I'll be surprised if ND keeps it within 10 tomorrow.

Without doing research, who has UConn played away in the mids? How about any top 10 teams? In general, those teams won't, unless it helps their RPI. Jacks have had two top 15 teams to Frost, and pulled the upset (Nebraska & Penn St). It'd be a superb upset if Jacks were to win. Really appreciate Notre Dame making the home/home and making the visit to Frost.

The game with Notre Dame will be played at Frost, that helps, but how much closer can we get to beating a team like ND, a team that plays the best competition in the country, and only loses once or twice all year? We'll have to play fundamentally sound basketball, and try and keep up in scoring, against probably the stoutest defense we'll play against all year. Tough task, but the reward of playing well in this game will be worth all the hard work they'll have to put into preparing for this great opportunity. Early game into the new season hurts somewhat, as far as getting new players adjusted to college ball, especially elite level college ball.

The sports world will expect only one outcome, would be nice to disappoint.

I remember that game. Steph Paluch literally got covered with blood when one of the ND players threw the ball into her face on a fastbreak, unintentionally I think as she just spun and threw the ball thinking it was open court, and Steph was standing there for the charge call, standing still, arms straight up. She never got the call, even though there was plenty of contact.

Tenn played Gonzaga awhile back, for a chance for one of their players (Tenn) to play in front of her fans, as she hailed from the State of Washington. Notre Dame is doing us a big, big favor, I appreciate it, for the opportuniyty it will be for our players.

yes. i understand, but, does it really do the jacks any favors playing top 5-8 competition? maybe i am wrong, but, i just don't see the benefits. especially when you are trying to juggle the best seeding possible if you make it to the ncaa's. just asking an honest question. could be wrong again, but, isn't there a possibility of playing maryland also? i'd be surprised if they aren't top 5 in the polls---at least starting the season out. their 3 standouts are all back. they will be a very athletic, long team.

It would help the Jacks seeding if they would end the season with only 2 or 3 losses , but not much in a season like this past one where you have 3 or 4 "bad" conference losses combined with some mid-major losses that were winnable. By the way , is anyone else having problems with the "Reply With Quote" feature since the board was updated last week ? When I click on it , the regular Quick Reply box shows up without the quote.
