The crowd noise is a little confusing . . . sounds to me like the crowd is louder when SDSU scores than when IPFW does . . .

I'm pretty sure their livestats refresh interval is five seconds. It just flashes and flickers for a couple of seconds, and only gives you a couple of seconds to look before it starts refreshing again.
