  • Jackrabbits vs Mastodons

Coach Paul brings his squad to Brookings today with a 1-23 record against the Jackrabbits. This could be a dangerous game if he can leave his starters in the game for 40 minutes. IPFW will shoot about 23 3pt shots at 36% efficiency. The starters all average over 40%-50% from the field. They still run a guard heavy team that Paul has been trying to change slowly. They played both SDSU and USD within a point at Ft Wayne. USD coasted to 91-80 win at Vermillion. Paul should be 1-24 after today against the Jackrabbits as the Jackrabbit size, speed, depth, and home court should subdue the Mastodons. It should be a great Sunday afternoon in Brookings. Go Jacks!!

Additionally, this game is on ESPN3 and Midco for those not in Brookings.

Appreciate the note concerning ESPN3. It seems 1/2 the time, my house realizes after the fact that we could have watched the games on TV vs listening on the radio. One of these years, we'll be smart enough to spend 30 seconds looking at the listings ourselves before the game is over.
That being said, I still like spending an afternoon tinkering in the garage listening to SDSU sports on WNAX.

1-23 record is almost unbelievable. 23-1 record against any time is equally amazing - unless you're talking about the UCONN women.

I will be at the game of course its one of the few actually on midco sports. Maybe its just me but seems we don't have as many sporting events for football and basketball on midco sport as we use too.

i watched most of the usd game friday night. thought the Mastadon's had moments where they looked very good---then ya' turnaround and they had stretches where you weren't sure you had same game on. thought they were very inconsistent. if jacks come out focused and are ready, should be at least a 10-15 pt win today. if the ice made it down brookings way, stay safe!

hope clarin comes out with same attitude as she has the past couple games.

Scotty just said that Stevens is out with a foot injury. She's also wearing a boot on her foot.

AJ just said she'll be out for "a few weeks."

Waytashek just had to get help coming off the floor after injuring her knee. Let's hope it isn't serious.

How did stevens get injured? I don't recall hearing what happened but waytashek I thought the same thing hyperextension.

Just let her heal and don't risk aggravating a (hopefully) minor injury. Get the proper diagnosis and go from there. Hopefully, she's ready to go for the Summit League Tournament.

Megan Waytashek's leg injury still uncertain, but 'no reason to fear the worst', according to AJ.

For one of the first times this season , the Clarissa Ober of last year's WNIT run broke through. If the Jacks could consistently get that kind of combined production from her and Clarin . it will be trouble for the rest of the Summit. AJ mentioned in the presser that with Stevens out , Ober and Clarin will get some time on the floor together if Ober can keep hitting the threes.
