  • Creighton returns to Frost

Creighton returns three starters and eight letterwinners from that squad, including reigning BIG EAST Player of the Year and All-America Honorable Mention Marissa Janning. Janning, was picked as the Big East POY, for the Creighton Bluejays, who are the pre-season pick for 4th in the BEast.

Lost their opener vs top MVC team, Wichita St on the road 65-56, the Jays will be looking to end SDSU's 22 game home winning streak.

Jacks are 1-4 vs the Jays, and this is another great contest to enjoy at Frost Arena.

    Frost @ 7 PM, 11/18.

They've still gotta be having nightmares about that 28-0 run we hung on them in the WNIT last year...

After us knocking off #1 BYU on Fri, this game will hold even more significance for both teams, got to keep focused and continue our winning streak against Creighton going as well as our home winning streak.

Gameday! Slow down Janning and SDSU should be in good shape. If the Jacks can go 1-1 in these next 2 game (#18 DePaul is up next), things will be looking pretty good.

And of course 2-0 would be grrrreeaaat. DePaul is picked to win the Big East. Tonight should be a game to see improvement from the BYU game. We might see better timing and how the deep bench may have different matchups for the Jackrabbits vs. Bluejays. Creighton has a difficult OOC as they play UConn, Utah, cincinnati, UNI, Nebraska, Seton Hall, Omaha, and Kansas before conference. http://www.gocreighton.com/ViewArtic...DB_OEM_ID=1000

With that schedule, Creighton will be fighting hard to get any wins if losses continue, each game they'll be looking to even out the losses, expect a gritty, hard fought game from them me thinks.

This will be a tough one. Creighton knows what they are getting into at Frost, and will be out for some revenge. A win would end up looking good on our resume by the end of the season because Creighton seems to have the pieces to pick up a few big wins as the season goes along.

I see that last week the Mid-Major poll was published on Tuesday. Is an update coming out today? How high will we climb with that convincing win over #1?

I'm guessing SDSU will be #6 or #5. BYU, Marist, Chattanooga, Hampton, and Bowling Green all lost. It should be released sometime this afternoon.

                  Re: Creighton returns to Frost

Sagarin has the Jacks ranked #39, BYU 25th and Creighton 43rd. Quite a good early schedule. He has DePaul at 141. I know the early season computer rankings are based a lot on last year etc but still an indicator of quality.

                    Re: Creighton returns to Frost

Just did a little research. Here is the Sagarin rankings for the Jacks non-conference schedule.

                    25 BYU
                    43 Creighton
                    48 Marist
                    64 Arkansas
                    93 UALR
                    96 Middle Tenn St
                    114 UNI
                    118 Green Bay
                    141 DePaul
                    234 UNColorado
                    262 Northern Illinois
                    263 Sam Houston State
PLUS one TBD from the Las Vegas tournament either UNLV or Delaware St. Neither is highly rated.

                      Re: Creighton returns to Frost

Among those non-conference opponents, Arkansas, GB and UALR received votes in this week's NCAA AP poll (Depaul is 18). SDSU defintiely has the opportunity to get on that list if they get a few more wins.

Creighton's defense looks tough, we can't seem to penetrate....looking better now....allowing offensive rebounds will kill us

Creighton has hit like 4 three's already.

I'm always amazed at how well teams seem to shoot in Frost.
