It's getting closer: Jan 14th at 2pm.  Being a Saturday it makes a very appealing road trip.  I see there is a pregame gathering as well.

So far it seems like the Jacks have a chance at anyone if they play their game and this may be the year they beat the Gophs.

NDSU women just beat them tonight at home 62-48 and led the entire game.

Don't want to disappoint you, but the 14th is on a Sunday. Go jacks and beat the Gophers.

But the 15th is a Monday holiday so for those who have it off it makes for a nice 3 day road trip.

Am planning on going up for the game. Do we buy tickets thru SDSU or will they be selling them there so you can sit amongst your own crowd.

                  Re: Minnesota

Jacks need another win against a Major Conference opponent. I suspect we will get a much better game than NDSU did in Fargo. The Western Kentucky game would have been a real boost to the RPI and our NIT qwest.

                    Re: Minnesota

I think teams are beginning to prepare better for the Jacks. Marquette and WKU both had a defensive scheme geared towards shutting down Vogel and making the other players beat them. Our players have had a hard time getting things started without Megan's help.

I suspect Minnesota with take a similar approach. Shut down Vogel early, let the Jacks enter the post, pressure the post players and force turnovers. On the other end, I look for Minnesota to force the ball inside where they have a weight advantage similar to WKU and Marquette. Jacks need to be ready to double down and that will leave some perimeter shots available.

Going to be a tough game to win in Minnesota.

I know we have some good young players coming up through the system, but you don't get a Megan Vogel to come around very often. Even as a freshman and sophmore you could see she had a different way about the way she played the game. I think we will struggle to replace her next year.

Yeah, I've thought that this season too. It seems like AJ always finds a way to reload though, especially over the last couple of seasons. We have went straight from Pater, to Schlagel, to Vogel, so I'll wait and see what happens. Really, I guess I don't even care if next season is a little down, as long as we improve for our first year of tournament eligibility.

You can't replace a player like that! they only come around once in a great while! Every player on this team has learned from her what it takes to be succesful and be a leader and that will make the entire team much better in the years to come!

Rabbit Den Readers are done for the game, but do not have permission to be printed en masse. Anyone interested in having one in handy for the game give me a message with your email and I will send a version to your email in time for you to get it printed off and in hand at the game.

Today is the day. We need to break this Sunday losing streak we have...Missouri, Marquette, Western Kentucky. What better place than the home state of a few of our players. Hope to see you at Williams Arena.
