Really impressed with the young players. Young, Ober, and Stevens look really good. Young was excellent! Very athletic, great shot, and had some incredible passes. Looked good defensively too. She's going to be a good one!

Add Clarin and Heiser into the mix and this team goes a solid 12 deep. Loaded with depth and athleticism.

Gonna be another fun year!

It was one game and against a D2 team but I have to say I am right there with you. She was fantastic last night.

To say that AJ has reloaded may not be doing it justice. They have added some real talent to the roster.

I keep a makeshift scholarship roster on a sheet of paper,and we are booked with talent for next year and beyond.Makes losing seniors to graduation less painful,although that still hurts .

I believe we'll be touting a Severyn,Miller,,Thompson,or Alexander ,or all four next year,and we haven't even seen much of Tiffaney yet this year.This years recruits are fantastic.The future continues to look bright for our Jacks!

I know this year is just starting,but next yr...Holy cow....all 15 roster spots filled.

Mankato is a D2 school, but they have some good talent on that team. They do not have the size and strength and overall quickness of the Jackrabbits. They do have a better than average D2 team. The pace of the game slowed in transition against Mankato. Also, the jackrabbits were missing 2 players that figure to contribute every game. As far as recruits like the current crop of freshman, I am pleased that they will be able to play with juniors and seniors that are here. It could be an exponential growth with current mix of talent. At this time, the season has much promise.

I have really been impressed with this group. Yes, Mankato is a D11 program albeit a good D11 team or at least the national rankings suggest they are. I understand they are ranked in the to 25? This has the makings of an excellent year. If we have a weak spot I think we need more offense from our point guards. Steph is at least a threat but Chloe needs to at least look at the basket now and than. All three freshmen look really comforable on the floor. Young looks like the real deal. But we will need Ober and Chyna both to contribute. Players like Hanna, Tara and clearly Hart are going to see less time because of the quality of our FR.

Going to be interesting when we meet he Georgetowns, ND and Standfords of the world. Great start.

Interesting you say this,in the highlights half the time I don't know if I'm looking at Waytashek or Young,til i see the number on their jersey.They are about the same size,and both make fantastic plays.Good problem to have,I'd say.

The season is very young yet,looking this good early will help win some games,but this schedule is so rough ,we need players who can come in and give us some points anytime they are on the floor.

If Chloe can get quite a few assists a game,she won't need to score as much,as she will be getting the ball to someone else to score.She should take care of the ball,even playing at a fast pace,maybe deflect some passes,get loose balls,lots of things players can do to help besides score,but scoring is the most obvious and looked at stat.
We control the ball,and get a shot off just about every possession,will go a long way in staying in the tougher games.I guess I'm a nut on efficiency,being an efficient team,no wasted opportunities.It kills a team going a long period of time not even getting a shot at the basket because of turnovers.Especially when the other team scores on your turnovers and starts a run.

That said,some styles of play are more conducive to committing turnovers,as Jill said,as long as they force more than they make.
I think most of the players are comming around slowly,but it takes some longer than others ,I guess, to play at mid season form.

Really impressed with the freshmen on how quickly they've learned to make the pass to another player with a better chance to score,but when that player is them,they don't hesitate and put the ball in the hoop.
Impressed with the whole team on this point,the dicipline and good judgement shown .
One good thing,they're all good passers and can all handle the passes directed at them.This is a great fundamental to work with and to have with any team that wants to continue to get better.

^this^ granted, i sure am no expert, but, from what i have seen of macy miller that is one gal i am very excited to see in a jackrabbit uniform. i remember watching her as a freshman---i said it back then, this girl is pretty special. will be fun following her career.

Yup, we're gonna be ok at point guard for awhile. I've seen Macy play several times and she is something special. If anyone gets a chance to see Mitchell play this year, do it.

These young women will definitely help the gals we have such as Megan W, Mariah, Megan S, Gabby, and our seniors. As we progress, the young women who appear in 2-3 years should bring the same euphoria that we seem to have today. The Jackrabbits will continue to set the bar for the Summit League. This is a good thing!
