It appears this team has reloaded. I liked the fact that AJ brought these two into the game very early. He's obviously seen something in them. I'm hoping there will be a video feed Friday.

There were not loads of extra fouls called, but remember that the teams know there is a closer game called on the defense and there were some of those arm bars and hand checks called. It was not a drawn out game(2 hours), but I thought you could easily see that it was called closer. I am not sure if the 10 second rule is in on the women this year, but it appeared the refs were doing the count on the back court. I did not see the normal banging on defense that has been the norm lately. Mariah started the game on fire and made a bunch of shots early. I see that she shot 7-13 and all of her shots were inside of 4 ft. (Also 5-7 ft) She was likely the most athletic player on the floor. She is definitely more under control on shots than last year at this time. The transition game and post play seem to be the emphasis today.

[QUOTE=jackdaniel;237783]I like the relaxed atmosphere of exhibition games, sit back, relax, munch popcorn, and get a feel for how well the team is playing this early in the season.I was amazed at how well we shot three's in the 2008-2009 season,I sensed we would do very, very well that year.[/QUOerTE]

I was extremely pleased with how well the women played this early in the season. Everyone and I mean everyone that played looked really comfortable on the floor. Stevens looked liked she belonged and Young and Ober looked outstanding. We may need a little more offense from our guards - Chloe, Gabby and Steph need to be at least a threat to score. Mankato will certainly offer more of a challenge. Depth, size, speed and a good mix of experience and youth. I like what I see.

Very encouraging, they look really good in the highlight video.

I thought i read where USD was supposed to scrimmage with the Mavs, but haven't run accross it again. If true, the Mavs may be a little more used to the fast pace than the Beavers were. The more they challenge us the better we'll be later on.
Double header, first exhibition for the men ,ought to be a large crowd

The Mavs are picked for the second in the NSIC I would expect the Rabbits try to run and feed the post again to verify they can run this game. 4-17 on 3 pt against the Beavers was about the only soft stat. Ball handling was very good for early game. The yotes do not list any scrimmages or exhibition games on schedule. Friday night should bring 2500+.

NDSU women played an exhibition game tonight against Crookston and won 64-59. Its going to be another long year for the bison women's team.
