Re: Summit League Tournament Championship - USD

    I'm happy yet exhausted.

Got to go take some Advil for this headache I've developed from yelling at the TV.

Wow! That was a nail biter! Seems like the women have had their fair share of close games in the title game!

I know what you mean. Heart was racing the last 10 minutes of the game. I got absolutely nothing done at work the past couple hours.

Wow. But that's what great teams do. They find a way to win even on nights when things go wrong.

What I took away as the turning point of the game. Heiser making her 3 I think that tied it and heiser taking over the point the last few minutes of the game with bouver in foul trouble and chloe on the bench. She played great D and took care of the ball.
Our 3s were not even close and can't believe we had that many shots in the paint where the ball rolled off the rim. Ones we usually make. Great win happy for them.

those balls falling off the rim were because Lingle, Dietel were expecting to get hammered like they were in the first half by Harrington and the others when the ball came to them. in the second they were rushing the shot and missing .

Amazing finish. USD out shot and out rebounded the Jacks, and played strong D. The win was on free throws 19 vs 9. Eide and Gabby all tourney.

Seekamp is MVP, class act, only one to come out and so accepted her award, Tempest's and team trophy. Where was coach?

Loved AJ being with the times and fouling Yackley despite being up by 3. Yackley hasn't been a good FT shooter this year and she missed it and than the 3pt attempt. I'm sure if she was a decent three point shooter they would have waited a second or two to foul. That type of coaching calls late in the game wins you the game

well, until amy williams got hired by usd, last time i saw her she was attempting to crawl over bleacher seats at our basketball games! i tried watching her on the sidelines during some of the game. i just think it is very possible usd may have hired a gem. energy, enthusiasm, and appears to have a hold of the game. it is going to be fun watching this rivalry in the coming years. this has been my only chance to watch the jacks on tv---just listened to them on the radio, when it would come in. not one of their better offensive efforts, but, good they could grind out a win!

had to question that last play---as far as the timing of the foul. would have like to seen her make a couple dribbles or make her pass the ball then foul. left a little too much time on the clock for my liking---and, it almost worked out for usd.

gonna get a tough seed, but, good luck jacks!

The longer you wait, the greater the chance of a shooting foul or clean look getting off.

Selection Monday,March 18,less than a wk away, just a reminder. Also ,commenting on this game one more time, unless we can get the three going again,we won't be very effective with our offense, seems like we're stuggling accross the board,no one wants to take the shot.On transition and fast break ,taking off downcourt does no good if you don't get the rebound first. We let USD gain confidence in this game, and it nearly cost us in the end.

Enough critiquing ,congratulations are in order for our Summit League conference champions,as well as the conference tournament champs. It doesn't get any better than that. Now they can go to the dance and and just play, the pressure to get to the dance is gone.Go Jacks!

that's why it is a risk----but, it still left them enough time to get a rebound (after being tipped) and to move out to 3pt line and get a very good look. i would like the clock to be under 5 seconds when fouling.

Wow. I'm finally starting to recover from yesterday's games. Congrats to the ladies. They certainly did not play their best game but they found a way to get another huge win. 15-0 in the Tournament and 5 Championships in five tries. Summit Dynasty.

I don't know if I would have been able to handle losing to USD or NDSU for mens. Both rivals and I have many high school classmates that go to both. Thankfully they both won

Enjoy it this year, as both opponents return nearly every person the roster. Seeburg from USD is a very good athlete, and playing on the national Austrailian team, gives here additional experience. Taylor Braun from Oregan?. How did they manage to land such a fine athlete like him? Looks like Hansen needs to look at some West Coast recruits, as there are probably more of them out there who are getting overlooked by PAC 10 schools. Both teams USD Women and Men, and NDSU Men will be a challenge next year.
